Starting eCommerce Site, Should I hire SEO companies?

Hey guys, I'm a media buyer but I am going to start a venture on eCommerce and own my own products/offers.

I will push my products through media buys obviously since it's something i know how to work with but I am also going to make a store where people can actually type on google and find the products they're looking for.

My question is this, there is way too much to learn about SEO and I really don't have the time/not willing to put the effort into learning.

Is hiring an SEO company the right way to go about this? And are they REALLY worth it?
If you have any suggestions of LEGITIMATE companies that do this kind of work to rank my page up on google I am also interested.

Thank you.

Hey Rosebudd,
If you have budget test with paid shopping platforms.
Think featured listings on amazon, ebay and the likes.

Regarding SEO it's more of a long term strategy results typically take longer to yield but once done properly it's stable.
Be wary of blackhat SEO techniques as it'll get you quick results but shoot you down long term if google issues another update.

Honestly man before you jump into SEO do a bit a research, read a book and know the basics this way SEO firms can't take advantage.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the advice the only thing keeping me in the way of learning SEO techniques is that i'm practically having to learn a lot about manufacturing items. Such as fulfillment, packaging, payment processing, refunds, call centers....so much stuff i have to do all on my own, which is why I see it more viable to hire someone that knows how to get my page up there on google, I just don't know if they're truly reliable and worth it and I don't know WHO has a good reputation for that.

I work for an ecommerce company that delivers 120k visitors a day. I'm an SEO associate for them. Hit me up if you have any questions at any time.

If you are setting up an Adwords account definitely get Merchant centre set up and run shopping on Google.

Personally I would be inclined to start with paid search and shopping and then start to SEO terms that are doing well with paid traffic.

If your gonna get a decent SEO firm to do white hat SEO its gonna cost, so I would rather spend money on the proven products

It's absolutley worth hiring a SEO company if you do some research about them first and ask them the right questions to make sure that they are qualified. Read something like this: http://www.searchenginejournal.com/2...uin-era/62504/ and ask away. Make sure you know what your goal is and you might wanna try AdWords first so you know what keywords are converting.
