DSPs - why testing more platforms? (3)

DSPs - why testing more platforms?

I'm currently running on Decisive and Sitescout. How do you choose on which DSP to run and why do some of you try a lot more?

I can only see two major differences/advantages:
1. The auto bidding system(on Decisive the smart bid and on Sitescout you can automate blacklisting based on some performance parameters)
2. How easy it is to see the placements performances and blacklist modify bids(on Decisive you have to pull reports since the live stats are always slow and not accurate, on Sitescout works well in real time and you can adjust the bid on placement level)

The inventory looks the same. Although on Decisive seems to be a little bit cheaper (I guess their cut is lower), but not that big of a difference to really make a campaign win or break.

Beside the functionality of bidding and cutting placements are there other advantages that makes it worth your time to investigate new DSPs? If I have access to the same inventory and can optimize/cut placements I don't see any reason not sticking with just one of them. In the end that's all you really need as functionality to make your campaigns profitable.

a 5% decrease in adspend costs can be huge! assuming you make $0.10 of profits for every $1 you spend, a 5% reduction in adspend cost will mean a extra 5.8 cents of profit per $1 of ad spent. and that is an increase of profits by a whopping 58%!!!!

Well..assuming you make $0.5 profit for every $1 thats just a 11% increase. The percentage looks good, but it's the actual money that really matter.

Although I totally agree it's some money bonus, but instead of focusing on finding out which network takes the less cut I'd rather focus on the campaigns. I guess this would be a last step of optimization after you buy huge volume, to get some extra cash for your buck. Although if the DSP has a bad interface and it takes a lot of time do cut placements maybe it's not really worth the time for the little bonus.

Beside this, any other reason?
