Hey STM
My name is TaeWoo. I used to do 5 figure daily ad spend on adwords in 2008-2010 while in AM (I left b/c i had some bad experiences, especially with some CPA networks and advertisers - you can read about it here and here). Some things I've done
- write my own conversion tracking w/auto optimizer algorithms (actually developing that for mobile now)
- cross domain flash script that sends conversion page information back to a 3rd party server (if you understood that, +2 kudo points for you... another +3 points for you if you can understand why that this is something performance marketer would want)
- Pay per call conversion tracking (primitive, but it worked)
- scripts to deploy 100's of campaigns on ad networks per hour
ANYWAY...
Im back in AM. This time... im doing things a bit differently. Completely whitehat and compliant. If it doesn't add value to people's lives, I just can't run it. No adult, no pin submits/sweepstakes, no rebill, no nada. I'd like to stay true to my new found spiritual self.
I have plenty of experience in doing development work for ad tech... (i was offered lead tech roles @ silicon valley sartups like Zynga in their ad division), so I figured I can help people who might need help
If you need tech help, feel free to PM me. Here's my own caveat - I get messaged from people on linkedin, through my blog, etc... so it's not like i haev shortage of people who need my help. Someone who I'd ideally like to work with are
- "super affiliates" that I can learn from, particularly in mobile, games, and pay per call
- don't do 99.9% non-compliant stuff, cloaking, etc. ... you know, all that evil shit you would never promote to your friends and family
I am NOT a
1) landing page coder (you can hire those on odesk for $5/hr)
2) designer / UI / UX person (i can make a car run, but i can't promise that the car will be pretty)
I DO
1) run my own campaigns and offers with my team
2) learn very quickly

Seriously though, you should definitely connect with the STM crew, especially bbrock32, zeno and caurmen, if possible in person at the London meetup. They are doing some really interesting things on the tools side, and your background and skills seem to be terrific.

I wished i joined STM years ago.. these events look fantastic. STM has the best traffic / performance marketing knowlege on the web. Maybe even the whole universe (unless green martian AM-ers are building a better forum somewhere in space).
