Hey!
I've decided to try mobile out and I'm sure making a follow-along campaign will help me with succeeding!
I've already launched a campaign (today) so I already have some data, but not really enough to make good decisions.
I did already launch some campaigns yesterday but none of them were very successful and I also don't feel like the money I put in yielded any good results in terms of data as well, so I hope you guys can help me out with optimizing and creating a somewhat profitable (or at least usable in terms of data) campaign.
Traffic source:Decisive
Vertical: App Install
Offer: APUS Launcher, Payout: $0.20
I'm currently loosely following the Appetizer approach, where I'm only running two campaigns right now: app/cell and app/wifi. I noticed that, also in my campaigns yesterday, site traffic was pretty disappointing. I also started out with site/cell and site/wifi campaigns earlier today and I had some very disappointing numbers so I decided to drop it.
Right now I have these two campaigns running with $0.75 smart CPM and a $8 dollar daily budget. I'm using 8 standard banners I got from spying and I'm direct-linking.
Stats app/cell:
Bids: 242,061
Wins: 21,340 (8.8%)
Clicks: 261 (1.2%)
Conversions: 4 (1.5%)
I've spent $4.43 so far which puts me on a CPA of $1.11.
I'm getting not that much wins but my CTR isn't that amazing either, should I up my bids? What do you recommend when using smart bidding?
Stats app/wifi:
Bids: 105,619
Wins: 21,196 (20%)
Clicks: 284 (1.3%)
Conversions: 5 (1.8%)
I've spent $4.27 so far which puts me on a CPA of $0.85.
It looks like this campaigns is going pretty steady and I feel like I should wait a bit longer so I have more data to analyze. I don't really think going for specific targeting (carriers, etc.) would be the best choice right now. Should I wait longer or do I start killing banners and blacklisting apps that are taking up too much clicks and wins without any conversions?
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!
Good luck, mate!
I'm not the right person to give you any advice as I'm starting with mobile as well. But why did you start with 3 geos right off the bat? Wouldn't it be smarter to test the offer in one geo and scale it up later after you find a converting offer, angle and targeting?
Can I ask you something? Do you suffer from a massive click-loss as well? Are your amounts of clicks in Decisive, tracker and affiliate network similar or is there a huge discrepancy? Thanks!
Looks promising...keep posting this... =)
Hey, just curious if you are rotating that offer in
...0.20 seems pretty low payout...but good data nonethaless
I think you would get alot more conversions if you used a landing page. Now you know it converts, its time to make a lander to get more conversions!
Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated lately.
I've been really busy lately so I wasn't able to concentrate on my mobile campaign. I've decided to drop this campaigns, since the last few days I was running it, it totally tanked.
However, I'm definitely gonna be doing a new follow-along soon, when I get some more time to spend on my campaigns. I'll probably be making a new thread the day after tomorrow, and I'm gonna start with a clean slate! Be looking out for it, It's going to be a lot more detailed than this one and I'm gonna be updating the follow-along campaign from the start!
Looking forward to the new Follow-Along!
