Voluum, Avazu, and decisive tracking issue. (8)

Voluum, Avazu, and decisive tracking issue.

Hey everyone,

I have not been having any issues with tracking on affiliate networks using cake. However now when using Avazu, I cannot get my conversions reported in Voluum or in decisive. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Voluum is recording data on clicks, but not on conversions. Similar with decisive, no conversions are visible on the decisive page for my avazu campaigns.

I have screenshots below, I hope someone can point out where I went wrong. I am sure it is something simple.

thanks!

Hmm - looks mostly correct from what I can see. These things can be frustrating, no question!

The first thing I'd check: is [dv1] the correct token for your subids on Avazu?

Second thing: is Avazu recording incoming clicks? If so you can potentially manually import the conversions by getting subid details from Avazu's reports.

Step 1: check that click IDs actually exist in the dv1 data at Avazu

Step 2: check your offer URL in Voluum. Are you actually passing dv1={clickid} ?

Step 3: I'd recommend removing the append click IDs tick in the network config. I don't like this, it makes it easy to make mistakes. Chances are your offer URL is now not actually passing ...dv1={clickid} (your link would have to end in ....&dv1=)

The setup looks correct, can you try firing one conversion manually ( just copy paste a click subid ) and see if that fires on Voluum?

Thanks guys!

caurmen:
a) how do i check that dv1 is the correct token?
b) Yes, Avazu is collecting clicks

zeno, bbrock: sorry, but can you dumb that down a little (or a lot) for me? How do I check on Avazu that clickids are in div1 at Avazu?

I did put clickid tokens in, did I do it incorrectly? (attachment)

My AM looked at my postback and compared to other affiliates and made the following change:

http://xxxxx.voluumtrk.com/postback?cid=[dv1]&p=[conversion revenue]
to
http://xxxxx.trackvoluum.com/postback?cid=[dv1]&payout=[conversion amount]

sending more traffic now, shall see if this helps.

In your Voluum offer setup you've got dv1={campaign.id} and dv2={clickid}

On conversion you're posting back dv1. As you've set it up now this is not a unique ID assosciated to the click. It's an internal ID assigned to the campaign.

Go into Avazu and change your global postback to this:

http://xxxxx.trackvoluum.com/postback?cid=[dv2]&payout=[conversion revenue]

That should fix your problem.

Nicely spotted Prof!

Yep, that's almost certainly the problem.

Good news is that you haven't actually lost your conversion data: if you go into your Avazu stats and look for the dv2s which converted, you can get the Voluum clickids that had conversions associated. Then you can upload them manually (go to Voluum's Settings page, then "Conversion Upload") and get all that data into your tracking.
