Help finding best performing offers

Hello,

my name is Jay Oxenham and I am with Ads2Leads. I initially joined forces with a friend that is much smarter than I am to form a network that has absolutely taken off. You may have seen as at ASW if you were in attendance. This past year I have been learning the business and hiring more people that are much smarter than me. However, I am about to dive in head first and focus only on getting direct offers for our affiliates. My partner has been going out and getting all our offers for the past year, but he is valuable in other roles, so I really plan to work day and night learning the market inside out.

First of all, I want to know which offers are performing best and therefore worth my hard work. Is there some websites out there that I haven't discovered yet with accurate information regarding how a variety of offers are performing? I figure my best effort is to network and spend lots of time on the phone, but it's hard to figure out where to start. Please shoot me a message with any advise that will help me get out of the gates faster in this new role. If you simply know a great performing offer off the top of your head please list it here and I'll appreciate the advise.

This forum can be worth much more thatn the $99 fee per month if some of you veterans can point me in the right direction.

Thank you,

Jay Oxenham

Hiya!

If there's a website that provides accurate information on how offers are performing, I'm not aware of it

In general, that's information that most people keep very much to themselves, I'm afraid. Networking and keeping your ear to the ground are probably the best ways to go. Obviously, many networks do provide offer reports to their members, which can give some clues, but they're far from 100% accurate as guides to the best offer around.

Thank you, Im aware asking such a question in a message forum is like asking IN N Out for their secret sauce, but given the helpful attitude I've noticed in this forum due to the fact it is a paid membership, I figured I might get some general tips.

I'm in a good position and I am aware of some good converting offers, so if I can gain just a few allies, it could be beneficial for both of us

Start where you would start as an affiliate. You look at what other affiliates are running, where they are running it, and how they are running it - and obviously how long they run it. You will quickly see patterns. You will quickly see the same offers over and over again. Top offers get promoted on multiple traffic sources for a long period of time.

There is no one tool that is going to solve this problem for you. There's a lot of networking ahead of you- hitting the trade floors and parties doesn't hurt either to get in touch with advertisers and affiliates alike.

Try both spying tools and network overview pages - the latter helps you get an understanding of what is out there. You'll get a huge list of offers to tackle. Work on 10-20 advertisers and you'll quickly understand the game.

Heh, it never hurts to ask!

Unfortunately offers are one of those things that get so quickly saturated that even on a limited forum like this one, people won't share much.

As milobanski says, don't forget spying tools - particularly in very trend-driven verticals like adult, you can use them to get a pretty good feel for the market quite fast.

Thank you very much milobanski! I think you've given me good advise once before. I really appreciate it.

I notice your location says the Netherlands. Back in the early 2000's I did a full year of study abroad in Leeuwarden, NL and even played for their newly formed rugby team!

Milobanski,

Would you mind elaborating on your statement "
Work on 10-20 advertisers and you'll quickly understand the game."?
Super curious....Thanks

No problem. Happy to help. And yes, the Netherlands is a wicked country...

His initial question was asked from the network perspective. As a network you need to establish relationships with the advertiser, unless you plan on syndicating offers (e.g. you run an offer through another network because you cannot run the deal directly with the advertiser for whatever reason). A lot of affiliates don't like this because it usually means lower payouts (everyone involved takes a cut = lower payouts). Once you've talked to a few advertisers you will understand what type of traffic they are looking for, how payments work (e.g. payment terms between networks/clients), and how to setup offers in your network (technical point of view/ tracking issues, etc.).

As an affiliate, the game is actually not that different. A lot of affiliates try to go direct with advertisers mainly because of the higher payouts. Main risk being here that the affiliate is more dependent on the advertiser's payments. That risk is usually a lot higher for a single affiliate than for a well established network (read: high cash reserves). If a network loses out on let's say $100k it sucks, but it's not the end of the world. The $100k for an affiliate on the other hand can be a game changer, unless you're a super affiliate with high cash reserves. To tackle this problem affiliates ask for pre-payments from the advertiser. Again, this requires an established relationship, often times face2face/personal relationship to make it happen.
