I have been a member here over 2 year, and learn a lot of stuff here.
I think its time to introduce myself and giving a little back to the forum.
About myself:
Im a 25 YO guy from China, have been in affiliate marketing over 3 years.
The first year, like most of you, i was doing SEO or some free traffic stuff, and not working so much.
One day, i found this forum, looks pretty promising to me(Actually it is) but $99 monthly fee is a headache to me.
But finally, i am in, its the smartest investment i ever made, isnt it?
Newb affiliate
So i start my journey as a mediabuyer, started from POF, back to those age POF + Dating is very good way to practice your AM skill.
And i learn "Angel" from @Mr.Green , thats a very important course to my AM career.
After 4 months on POF, i finally able to make $200+ profit daily from dating offers. thats easy money, but those money will not make you rich.
Full time affiliate
After some success from POF, i became a full time affiliate.
i heard Facebook is the real deal for dating offers, and the ad format is very similar from POF. so i started learn facebook.
But as you guys know, its very hard to get a facebook ads account, to me, Facebook is TOTALLY BANNED in China! i need to connect facebook thru a VPN everytime!
it makes the account more unstable. the accounts keep banning. and chinese is hard to get multiple credit card.that was the most headache to me.
after couple months, i finally solve this problem, but the daily spend limit is another road block to me.
but once you know you can make more profit from it, you wont stop trying. I found a guy from facebook sales dep to create me a $50k credit account with post payment!
Yea, thats very freaking great stuff for a affiliate, you dont worry the cash flow, you dont have daily limit. and those days is pretty awesome, never make money that easy.
Then i made a mistake like every young affiliate, i thought it can last a very very long time, so i did not milk every single penny from it. It didnt last long, like only couple months.
Quitter
After facebook + dating gone, i tried adult, mobile, but not much success.
Everybody here should know China has the fastest GDP growth in the world, lots of people and some friends of mine make a lot of money from offline business.
So i started some offline business, completely quit AM those time, cause i was too young too naive, i thought sit front of the laptop daily is wasting my time.
But i were a 23 yo guy, offline business is completely different from what I did with AM. So after six months trying, i failed. i dont have much fund in the pocket and dont know what to do next.
2014, Milestone
I figured out that i have no experience in other industry but mediabuying.
So i sit back down, turn on my laptop again.
And i start to think out of the box, and i start learn the real mediabuying, and internet marketing.
After a while, I am lucky that i have a chance to work with some direct advertiser, thats completely change my mind.I dont think like an affiliate anymore.
after half year milking, i made over $1,000,000 in the last 6 months in 2014.
I manage more than 10 traffic sources, cross few traffic type. and now i have my own mediabuying team( small one, less than 10 ppl)
But what im trying to say is, once you think big, once you can kill different traffic type, your business is stabler. i made $1k revenue daily at the beginning, then $1k profit daily, then i make $10k profit daily, i made these achievement in just 6 months. but one of the major offer cut most of their budget, so the last 2 months revenue is not much.

I want to thank everybody here, your stories keep me going, and encourage me every single day. especially @kokofai, my background was very similar with you, and we met in BKK & Shenzhen you remember, lol.

Some of you ask some questions, and i would like to answer here.
1.how much did you typically spend per day to reach 8 figures?
Actually i did it like most people here i think. As long as you dont loss money, try to spend as much as you can.
then you can know how to master a source/offer. i think the biggest gap here is $xxx daily spending to $xxxx daily spending.
once you start spending 4 figures daily, you will keep going i believe.
2.Can you explain further how you set up direct deals?
its not easy, some advertiser you need to pay a visit and a coffee.
I worked with dating advertiser directly before, so i know how to talk to them.
Dont show them what a good affiliate you are but a marketing company.
3.what was the most important lesson you learnt during the last 2 years?
its not much secret, all knowledge i learned from STM forum, the rest is you have to try it yourself.
If there were a lesson, i would say learn to scale, because lot of people here making maybe $xxx daily, and keep optimizing the campaign.
What they should do is scale up, ROI is not your goal but profit is.
Once you have a success traffic source, scale up with other offer.
Once you have a success offer, scale up with other traffic source.
you will be able to master some traffic sources and offer vertical after a while. that you start making stable profit.
the answers above is just my point of view, correct me if you have a better idea, that is exactly what STM member does - SHARE!

Congrats man, keep on pushing. There will always be dips in your revenue, but as long as you keep using the same process you did to get your first million then you will stay on the up!

I remember that you were starting out at the same time I was...and our progression has been similar too (starting with POF, then moving to FB.)
I remember seeing your tracking links on FB around the time I was hitting FB hard. Making five figures profit/day on FB was so easy those days. I think we were few of the lucky ones who were at the right place at the right time.
After FB, I too tried adult, mobile etc.. with limited success. But finally, like you, I managed to hit some good campaigns over the last 6 months.
The first million is always special and the journey is unforgettable. Congratulations and good luck for your future endeavours

I really love this forum, the rate and volume of success is phenomenal. Everytime I need a boost with regards to motivation, I read a success story and I am raring to go 'beast mode'.

I wonder how so young guys are able to get the money to achieve this type of success. Perhaps it's because I'm pretty newbie and the money simply keeps coming gradually (self-financing all the success) but I have to admit that this subject worry me.
I'm older than the average guy at the forum (35) and my budget is not bigger than 5.000€-6.000€, I'm making the Zeno 6wamc course and try to get the right mindset, but I don't know if I'll be limited by my budget
