I hope someone can help us decide how we're going to start.
I've been reading and it seems the advice is to start with POF and dating offers, but we want to do mobile because it's a bigger market and make more money.
Is it wise to just jump straight into mobile? or should get our feet wet with POF first.
My thinking is because mobile and POF are essentially two different platforms, what we practice from POF probably won't apply to mobile anyway, and when we go mobile later, it'll be starting at square one anyway, so might aswel start mobile now?

yes, start with mobile. That is where everything is headed.
If you've never launched a campaign before then I'd advise POF + Dating.
It'll make sure you get the basics of tracking down, optimizing, and get some conversions in for split-testing.
Mobile is inherently more difficult because you have extra variables to deal with such as carriers, operating systems, etc. Might as well get the basics down first.
