I have read at many places that we should ask our Affiliate Manager about high converting offers.
I was wondering what is the best way that can prove effective?
1. should we ask for some specific metrics like EPC, Traffic volume etc.(I am not sure just making it up)
2. What is the significance of Network EPC for an offer? is it useful in deciding whether to go for an offer?
Just ask for hot offers and whatever criteria you want - low payout mobile app for example! AMs know whats up
1. Just ask what offers are converting in high volumes on the network. Networks will tend to have some offers that are converting better than others, your AM should be willing to open those for you.
2. For me, network epc isn't a strong indicator of wether I should run an offer or not. Usually my epc's are higher than the network average. Let research in your vertical be your guide above epc.
For example, if you're running adult offers. Are there 3-4 specific offers in your geo that you see on multiple traffic sources? If so, work on split testing offers that you spy. You may find the one with the lowest network epc, does amazing for you.
I think we need to make good relationship with AM to get high converting offers.
Brent's guide to good relationships with your affiliate manager:
1. Send Quality Leads.
2. Send A lot of Quality Leads.
3. Treat them with professional courtesy.
4. Don't nickel and dime them, the network, or their sales team. Treat your business as a long term venture, not an overnight cash grab.
To expand on point #4. Don't bullshit your AM's to attempt to get 5 more cents on an offer. Most are experienced enough to know what you're doing and you're only going to look like an asshole in the long run.
Granted, this is all IMHO.
Goodluck!
Thank you thebrent. That is a great advice to build relationship with the affiliate managers.
I like your guide Brent :-)
Keeping a good relationship with the AM is always important. Besides the proffesional reasons, why not enjoy your working relations as well? It doesnt take much from you just to be nice, polite and responsive. There are only benefits to it
