I'd like to ask for help/advice on the following situation. Maybe some of our display/ media buyers can chime in.
I'm working with a client who wants to switch from iframe to postback (s2s) tracking. Most of his affiliates seem to like the idea, while some, especially display/media buyers say they can not switch to postback and optimize their ads/campaigns. My guess is they cannot use postbacks with some of the traffic sources.
I'm trying to understand why display/media buying needs to use image or iframe pixels - IF this is actually true or urban legend. Isn't there a workaround to fire an image/iframe back to the traffic source once confirmed by the postback?
Also, I'm wondering if someone has ideas on how to solve the problem besides: - advertiser used both iframe, and postback
Is this a matter of using proper tracking on the affiliate side, or what's the issue?
