I know aweber is very good but not a huge fan of double opt in since I am collecting lists through ppv not targeted at a specific tighter niche.
What does everyone like for any good single opt in providers?
I got a list of about 10k over the last 2 months with basic ppv email submit gift card stuff and want to start to put together some email campaigns to see what other revs I can get from my money already spent. I also plan to add features to capture into new email system with auto-responders once I have done some tests to see what has a good response. Any tips with this would also be appreciated.
Aweber can do single opt in
As far as I know sending single opt-ins with aWeber is a bad idea and will get you into troubles with spam reports.
You could use Interspire Email marketer (also has an api) together with something like SMTP.com (works well enough for me, not super high volume though)
With this setup you can do anything you like w.r.t. optin-process etc.

The way Aweber handles the double optin just plain sucks.
One problem I see with aweber is when I import my initial list they all have to confirm the subscription and since I got the list the way I did I would imagine I would only get a small percentage to opt in. Anyone else here use aweber to import a decent size list that you acquired from PPV. If so did you get a decent opt in rate?

An alternative to Aweber is Signup.to - http://www.signup-onlinemarketing.co.uk/
Their rates are higher than Aweber but if you email them and say you want to transfer from Aweber, they will drop their prices considerably to try and get you on their system.
Also - Completely agree with ppvnewbie on single opt-in on Aweber - DON'T DO IT! Do it and you will get kicked off due to your SPAM Complaint rate. You might escape it for a while but it won't last long.
Why do you want to do single opt-in anyway? Your list will react considerably better on double opt-in.
In my experience of email marketing I have learnt to target more tightly and to genuinely interested prospects, rather than mail bombing everyone.
I'm collecting members through PPV on double opt-in, maybe give people an incentive to opt-in. Maybe to get a Free Walmart gift card 
I would agree that I would rather do double opt in if my goal was to build a list. In this instance I have a large amount of emails I have been collecting in the first step of trying to get them to do co-reg offers. That being the case their initial screen where they entered their email didn't brand myself to a niche it was more of get a free gift card. If I tried to double opt in I would lose a large percentage IMO. My main goal is to get them into a list and send them some legit save money emails and slip in a few offers here and there to try and gain some additional rev.

Regardless however I've noticed that on double opt-in users respond better anyway and you don't have to worry about SPAM complaint rates.

Forgive me if this is "thread hijacking", I read in a post to search the forums for an answer to something instead of just posting a new thread. I did a thread and found this thread which I think is most related to my question.
I joined yesterday. I'm pretty new to CPA, so I've been reading a lot of the posts and case studies. I've been a part of other forums where they talked about building a list as well. They said if you were paying for traffic to test ads, landing pages, opt in rates, etc... then you should collect emails to help offset the advertising cost, meaning you could market products to them later on.
Furthermore, they would say that once you knew all of your statistics such as the CTR on your ads, opt-in rate of your landing page, conversion rates of something you were promoting, what would have otherwise been a losing money campaign, would turn into a profitable campaign because of all the backend commissions. Since you knew what the lifetime value of your subscriber was you could afford to pay the higher bids, because you weren't just making money off of the initial offer.
A lot of the posts and tutorials I've read in this forum have mentioned how they want to build a campaign that has longevity in it and is not going to take a lot of maintenance. That way they can focus on building new campaigns, and scale their efforts. I've also come across threads where they talk about how to protect your landing pages from people spying on them, so the don't get copied and the profitability reduced.
To me it seems that email marketing has a lot more longevity to it than optimizing campaigns. Once you have your email list optimized it's set. The emails go out automatically. All you have to worry about is driving traffic. If someone duplicates your campaigns, it's not as big of a deal because you are still going to make money on the backend. No one can ever steal the subscribers already on your list.
I have to admit most of this is theoretical to me. I just started building a list a couple of days ago. I spent about $200 advertising on POF, and ended up with 5 subscribers on my aweber account, mostly due to low CTR on my ads and an untested landing page.
I guess my question is how many people here have had success with email marketing? If you didn't have success did you split test and optimize your email marketing as vigorously as the cpa offers?
I hope this made sense it's kind of late here and i'm pretty tired.

i hv experience with aweber, mailchimp, interspire and amazon services, getresponse.
went with getresponse. single opt in. doing well for me.
In using a dedicated server for mass emailing,
does it matter what country the server is located..?
What do you look for in a good server company..? Thanks in advance.
