What is a good amount of money to start with mobile? A good budget?

I think about $1,000 is good to start with. It will allow you to test atleast 5-10 offers ($100 - $200 each)

Just look into these mobile-threads

They suggest some figures there ...

From my standpoint having started from scratch 9 weeks ago those are my overall stats so far:

Add another $1.000 for software, tools, ebooks, resources, forum access...

This month I have been testing pretty much around break-even, and it's going to get better ever day. But I still want to test a lot and not be ultra conservative, cut placements too early...

I would calculate an overall investment of at least 3K - if you wanna be comfortable without constant fear of running out make it 5K. That's just the overall investment, you can start with less and add this up by putting 1K a month from your 9-5 job aside, or something similar

The right budget is one that will let you test comfortably. If you have pain in your chest whenever you're about to launch a $10 per day campaign, then your budget should be bigger!

The standard advice is $5k minimum. More is better, almost always!

I appreciate the honesty on this one guys and the references. Us new guys need to know that we need to have "Stacked That Money" BEFORE we "$TACKTHATMONEY"!!!

I would say at least 1k a month... time should be your friend..

At least $5k just for traffic.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that makes me think that despite all the hype, mobile isn't exactly the best traffic source for a newbie to start out with. At least, not anymore...

Why? And what would you suggest instead?

@badimo - it depends on how much funding you have. Some newbies to AM start with $10k or more bankrolls, or a steady ongoing investment: for them, mobile is perfect. However, if you've only got $1k and no chance to refill in the near future, you're better off going for something with a smaller problem space initially to build up your cashflow.

I have 2500 USD right now to start out with and I can invest 1000 USD every month from now on to AM. I really want to start taking some action after reading pretty much everything covered in the relevant blogs (Finch, Ngo, Attila, Mr Green, any others I should know of?) and on this forum. I was thinking of going for low payout offers in non English European countries with direct linking / LPs on a CDN, depending on the offer and what my AM recommends. I'm no stranger to Photoshop so pumping out banners and designing LPs isn't a problem. I also understand basic HTML/CSS which I learned on Codecademy to code some very basic LPs. On the other hand I don't want to piss in the wind if most of you experienced guys say that it would really be a mistake to start experimenting with the budget that I have. I don't really care about losing money as long as I can educate myself with it. I appreciate any advice you guys are willing to give.

TLDR; 2500 USD to start out with and 1000 USD to supplement every month or wait a couple months and start with 5000 USD and then invest 1000 USD every month?

If you can add $1.000 a month to those $2.500 you have right now, I would get started now for sure!

I took the 2nd option(I was worse off though, I was in debt) and I ended up taking ages before I even launched a campaign, do me a massive favour and take the 1st option ASAP, do not let the analysis paralysis monster grow by waiting, launch something.
