Facebook page or just a profile? (4)
Short story: I am doing a favor for an old friend of mine who is a lot older than me and does not know how things online work. He also has a blog.
He is kind of a public figure and needs to spread the word around. I have been reading about the cons/pros of profiles and pages but I am still not sure.
What would you recommend? Our goal is to get his facebook posts the most exposure possible (noticed in news feeds) and collect as many followers or likes as possible.

Created some good value posts on the fanpape after that started some Campaigns promoting his blog (articles)/Get fanpages likes/followers
Its not hard time get followers really depends on the quality of your posts. Maybe start a giveaway free ebook or something get there emails. or if he already got traffic to is blog try content locker works like magic ^^ also that depends on what he can offer his traffic
Let me tell you Giveaways are sick way to get targeted interrested people.
Back in the old FB days (2010/11) it was easy to get followers with a free ebook.
Nowadays, everybody is doing it.
You need a rock-solid plan. It's gonna cost you a lot of money on the front end.
Think of a good strategy / monetization on the back end.

Organic reach on FB is pretty abysmal these days so you'll need to promote/advertise his posts.
Same rules apply as with normal direct-response stuff... plan and identify key markets then split-test targeting/bidding/ads and test to find out how much you can get likes for.
Likes are intangible things though, they don't really correspond to a 'following' though they will give his posts more organic exposure in the future.
These posts should also be crafted in a way that maximises sharing/interaction. Just study what viral articles do in terms of headlines, pain points and appeals to human nature, etc.
