FJ Marketing Solutions

Hello everyone,

I am completely new to affiliate marketing and launching my first campaigns today.

I am following the Appetiser to learn the ropes with the plan to move onto the Main Course. Did want to start on the Main Course, but from Caurmen's advice, it seems a better idea to break myself in first.

I will be following it closely.

Traffic Source: Decisive
Vertical: Utility Apps
Offer: DU Battery - Android
Geo: Portugal

Budget: $8/day per campaign
Bid: $0.23 CPM

Angle: More battery life, 50% more, best battery saving app.

Campaign Structure: As per the Appetiser guide, 4 campaigns, split over Wifi+App, Wifi+Site, Mobile+App and Mobile+Site.

Name:	Follow along banners.jpg
Views:	104
Size:	61.8 KB
ID:	5302

Landing Pages: None, direct linking.

That's it, just waiting for it to be approved by the affiliate network G4 Offers.

I was going to start off in the UK with an offer on an Anti-Virus App but decided to go somewhere non-English speaking in a less competitive Geo. I also happen to speak Portuguese myself so Portugal seemed fitting as I have noticed Google translate can be quite off sometimes with structures.

I have also seen a lot of people doing the Appetiser but with Voluum in place. For the time being I have decided not to include it as I am just starting out and it's also not in the guide but will look to implement it once my feet are a bit wetter!

Thanks for reading and posting in advance .

Hi baggins,

First of all i want to wish you good luck. Your banners looks pretty good, you can also make a simple landing page to split test with direct linking.

I'm subscribed.

Best of luck!

Suggestion: look up this offer on App Annie and get some daily ranking data for Portugal - assess how well it's doing overall, how long it has been out, whether bursts are frequent, etc.

Thanks.

Nice little site, very helpful. Seems like a pretty level app, doesn't seem to fluctuate, is on a bit of a dip at the moment though.

Yet to be approved by the advertiser, has been 3 days, AM is surprised. Was considering starting another offer, but with 6WAMC coming up thought I'd just wait.

So campaigns have been live for a few days but they are running very slowly. Do not seem to be winning enough bids on SITE. Will also take a long time to reach $15 spend so need to decide what to do about this.

So had some advice from Zeno on the traffic issue which seems to be a low bid problem.

I've broken the campaign into a manual CPM campaign as opposed to smart CPM and looking to find the breakpoint for traffic.

So I set the Manual CPM at $0.40.

This has got a lot more traffic now and looking to bring it down.

Here is a screenshot of all time for the campaign - http://screencast.com/t/cihTrovM6U

Here is a screenshot of today's manual CPM results - http://screencast.com/t/wRy3Inys

So when I checked to see if there was an App or Site taking up most of the spend I found this one - http://screencast.com/t/gfjfiSfKfmFd

I can't blacklist that can I as it is not a specific website.

There has been one conversion but it did not show up in Decisive. Still seeing how much has been spent, is this campaign actually worth pursuing instead of starting a new campaign and adding in Voluum, with higher payout?

Ended the campaign while I do the 6WAMC!
