hey guys, currently starting out using free hosted tracking202. clicks go uncounted for sometimes.
Would love to hear your thoughts on:
1) what are the pros & cons of using a free hosted t202
2) what are the pros & cons of self-hosted p202
currently not looking into cpvlab (yes, i've read how good it is etc etc) as finance doesn't allow me, so yeah. Fire up.
i wouldn't recommend using the free hosted version because you never know how reliable their server is..if it goes down you loose clicks/money..if your on a budget have a look at http://beyondhosting.net/Virtual-Pri...2-VPS-Hosting/ they offer a VPS with pre installed prosper202 for as little as $39/month

in my experience there isnt any pros of using the free hosted version of t202 unless ofcourse you have no money at all left over to spend with am but if that was the case I would recommend saving up a little more first because like nusolutionz said you dont know how reliable their server is and if it goes down your loosing money and as you said clicks go uncounted sometimes
the pros of a self hosted p202 are if for some chance your server goes down you can contact your server provider immediately and see what the deal is whereas with the free t202 you have to wait for them to get their server back up and running also with self hosted p202 you can add p202 mods also I find the self hosted p202 interface easier to navigate around then the free t202 interface
@sliq : its all about control ! control ! control ! the more control you have the better you have especially in this business, your tracker helps you to stay profitable. If your tracker is not self hosted, it is just like you're using a sharing hosting to push affliate offers. No matter how powerful the server which hosting the free hosted tracker are, it is still subjected to abuse because you don't who is the culprit who bring down the server or vps. when the tracker server is down, your adspend is down to the drain, don't forget we're paying for traffic.
vps is good for beginer, even you're on a high end vps, you still can earn alot without going dedicated , provided the vps is fine tuned, any good vps provider, will know how to tune the server or vps for high traffic without additional hardware.

And to be honest if your really trying to be a cheap ass and even consider the free hosted version you need to quit affiliate marketing. Their is nothing worth your time for FREE in this industry. Gotta spend money to make money!
