How to Present Myself to DSPs
I'm about to branch into mobile DSPs, and I wanted to know what the best way to present myself to them was. I do both promotion of my own products and of larger brands as an affiliate--do most DSPs give affiliates access to good inventory, or should I present myself as promoting my own products exclusively?
Main concern here is that I don't want to box myself in during the initial application process; I want to be able to try a variety of things on each DSP.

I don't think most DSPs are going to care that much. Just position yourself as a performance marketer who drives leads to his own products and for several other clients.

I believe he probably means when they are asking for details like this (this example is from PocketMath):
Campaign Contact Person - Name
Campaign Contact Person - Email
Client Reference 1
Name
Company
Email
Client Reference 2
Name
Company
Email
What would you insert here in case you are doing full-time affiliate? (eg. no other direct clients) Name of offers/apps that you promote?

Yeah I still haven't wrote back to them, I think we should come up with a system where we name each other

I tend to position myself as a performance marketing consultant who also has his own products. That keeps avenues open whilst avoiding anyone going "eek, affiliate!".

Get on the phone with them, and talk business with them.
Maybe they don't give you an all access pass at the start, but that's when you start spending money, understanding the platform and then complaining that the traffic and volume isn't good enough. That's when doors may open.
