Mobile and Pay Per Call Need Beyondhosting?

Hi guys,

I'm new to AM. I initially sign up to beyondhosting for my website and was thinking of hosting my landing pages on the beyondhosting VPS that I paid for.

As now I'm more focused on mobile traffic,do I still need to keep subscribing to beyondhosting? Will it be useful to scale up my mobile and Pay per call campaigns?

Cheers.

Yep you will need a web host to host your landers and tracking if you are going to use a self-hosted one.

Probably for your landers it would be better to host them on a cloud network for faster loading times in different countries. Rackspace, Amazon, etc.

For simple mobile landers I would try to host them fully on a CDN.

But, if you use a self-hosted tracking system, it can be easier to just put the landing pages on there (so redirects go from your server > your server). This can work as well or better than a CDN if your traffic is close to the server, and you offload static assets to a CDN anyway.

If you want to use PHP code in landers as well, you need a web server. They are useful to have lying around as long as you aren't paying a lot for them relative to your budget.

We use Unbounce for our landing pages, they host the pages and we just point our domains to them.

If you're signed up with us we can get you a deal through our promo code, to try it out.

Cheers,

If you just need to host landers and won't be running a tracker through the server, just get a cheap $5-10 box on DigitalOcean. Select their pre-configured "LEMP on 14.04" application stack which will only require minor tweaks (easy when following their tutorials) and you'll have a solid box for a fraction of what you're paying now.

I really should take some time to crank out some PPCall camapigns.. Ever since Ringpartner sent me that awesome red phone (thanks guys!) I keep thinking about jumping aboard giving this vertical a serious shot.

Hi Zeno,

For mobile landers...

a) If I host on a CDN, I presume I can only use HTML. If I use that as a landing page, will HTML reflect badly to my end user? Or should I use php all the way on a hosted VPS server like Wiredtree? I mean will it affect conversions? Or it doesn't matter at all?

b) Since you recommended CDN for host mobile landing page...

Let's say it's HTML

Option 1 : index.html is hosted entirely on Rackspace CDN (with all the images, css, javascript here)
Option 2 : index.html is hosted at WiredTree VPS, and all images, css, javascript are hosted on Rackspace CDN.

Will Option 1 beat Option 2?

Thanks.
