Help with Inmobi setup Voluum

Helloguys, I need help with setting Voluum tracking with Inmobi campaign. Inmobi tracking tokens and postback url are kind of complicated I really don't know how to set it.

How do you have it set up ?

thanks!

it's no different from other traffic sources where you can pass the source ID (that's the only token you have in inmobi AFAIK)
which other traffic sources did you already setup in Voluum?

https://www.inmobi.com/support/adver...ersions#others

https://www.inmobi.com/support/adver...alls+API+Guide

I'm not sure what tokens they provide but it looks like you need to pass back an event time (optional), property ID and device ID, e.g.

hxxp://advertiser.inmobiapis.com/tpce/v1/events/download?eventTime=&propertyId=123ABC123&o1=&um5=& gpId=&ida=IOS_ID_HERE

This could get a bit confusing if they pass device IDs only via one parameter, but usually they'd have {ida}, {o1}, {um5} etc which will let you actually build a postback URL properly in Voluum that just tries to pass every device ID, even if they don't exist, e.g.

http://advertiser.inmobiapis.com/tpce/v1/events/download?eventTime=&propertyId={var1}&o1={var2}&um 5={var3}&gpId={var4}&ida={var5}

hmm, now I'm confused

is this what you put on the post back url section zeno?

http://advertiser.inmobiapis.com/tpce/v1/events/download?eventTime=&propertyId={var1}&o1={var2}&um 5={var3}&gpId={var4}&ida={var5}

the support from inmobi is not really being any helpful at all

this is the answer I get from them when I ask them for tokens to track properly

"Hi,

I completely understand but our company provides site ids to track only if the advertiser spends more than $2k daily.
If not, it falls under the bracket of self serve who are not given these premium features"

so if you spend less than $2k daily you can't track your stuff :/ ... how are you supposed to get two a $2k daily if you can't track, optimize :S?

is it even possible for newbie - to run a campaign without ability to cut placements ? is it even possible for anyone ??

I don't get - what exactly their point is? to get rid of anyone who runs under $2k/day ? if it's so, than we HAVE to put a warning for all newbies about this network so they could think twice before starting to work with them. I sent them $500 myself, but now I'm thinking about demand a refund.

it makes no sense to run without tokens.

Site IDs are not the same as tracking conversions. They are likely talking about just an e.g. {siteID} token.

Site IDs show you which publishers/placements are doing the best which allows you to then optimise these. Some sources have thresholds to encourage higher spending to then be able to optimise the campaign better.

It's a pathetic practice in my opinion and actually discourages spending anything on their platform, but meh, what can you do.

They should however track at any budget - no one would do anything with them if they reserved conversion tracking to high volume players, that's just stupid.

Re: Postback URL: yes, that is what you would put in Voluum. But first you need to figure out what your PropertyID is and how to pass device IDs with tokens. I don't use InMobi, and I don't know what their tokens are unfortunately.

Hmm, didn't know they had raised the minimum spend required to enable siteID tracking to $2k.

That's pretty hefty, considering you'll most likely be running at a considerable loss without being able to track anything of substance.

If that's the case, IMO just go to another mobile ad network. They all have access to pretty much the same inventory anyways.

yep, I asked for a refund, that source might be for big fishes, not for me yet

thanks guys

Hi all,

I'm not sure if inMobi is for pp that don't have experience, budget or a good relationship with someone there. I'm sure it's a good traffic source
in some way, but definitely if you go in blind, I DON'T RECOMMEND IT!!!

I have been testing a little above 10 traffic sources for some offers, so I'm used to learning a new interface rather quickly, adapting to their
requests and running traffic as fast as possible to see how tracking works, how ads behave etc.

inMobi was the only one that I couldn't make traffic run for about a month. At first I didn't even understand what was the best option to choose
from App install, Lead gen ??? Even today I have no idea if my affiliate link goes in the right place or not.

Regarding Voluum )) I have read and re-read their guides, looked here for advice, asked directly to my networks but couldn't find an answer.

Regarding Support, what's that? They don't even answer. It's not like I don't have experience with other sources. They all reply within 24-48h but
here nothing happens for days. I mean it's nightmare just to start your traffic blindly, I'm not even thinking how hard is to get parameters for Voluum.

Of course now I have about $700 stuck there. Somehow I made traffic run but then it stopped after a few hours. I have been asking for a refund for
a week now using the Skype contacts I found on STM, using their CHAT Window, using their Forum, support ticket and email but no answer so far.

I really hope I will get my money back and I'm not saying inmobi doesn't work (even though you can't track placements at first), but it sure didn't work
for me after 2 and 1/2 months of trying.

This is my story and I hope it will help you guys.
