Hello everybody !
I'm in the process to start buying trafic on US market and work with CPA networks from US as well.
From now I'm only buying traffic from FR market, so i never had that problem before.
The problem I see is that for a european guy like me, I'm working with bank account in EURO, and when i would like to load money to a traffic source, there is a fee occuring for exchange EUR to USD.
Same happens when I'm requesting money from CPA network, there's a fee for USD to EUR.
I think that might maybe be solved by having a second bank account with a new credit card linked to it only in USD.
But the other problem is also the fees for internationnal wire transfers, which is usually between 30 to 90 USD.
Even if that's not big amounts, if I request for exemple weekly payments from CPA networks, I'll have 4 times fees a month, and that will finally have an impact on my overall ROI.
So I was wondering, how you european guys like me, are dealing with this ?
Any ideas to optimise costs about this would be more than welcome
I have two accounts, one in eur, one in usd. Those networks that charge in USD I pay from the USD account and vice versa. Same goes for payments I receive, if they pay in USD it goes to my USD account. Wire from EU companies are cheap, so thats sorted. Wires from other parts of the world can be expensive, but make enough and the network will cover the fee themselves
You can also use an instant payment system like paypal or payoneer, some networks use it, but make sure that for example with paypal they use the mass pay system and wont charge you the fee. I learned it the hard way when I got my first $5000 payment from a network and paypal charged me $400 for it
There will always be some fees included, but thats just the cost of doing business so get used to it
You should get a business account for both EUR and USD currencies. Networks, as anyone else, have the option to cover the wire fee - which they usually do as a courtesy. Talk to them if they are not currently covering it for you - they might not be aware of the problem or simply have the wire template set up incorrectly. Some networks may also be willing to pay you in Euro instead.
Lots of options, not sure if you want or can change the network because of wire fees.
thanks for your answers !
so ok, the bank account in USD aside the one in EUR looks to be the solution for exchange fees.
I didn't know that most network might cover the wire's fees. That's a good news.
@matuloo : ouch ! yeah 400$ fees it's a way too much !
@milobanski : it's not that I don't want to work with them if there are any fees, just wanted to choose the better option to reduce costs, as always
Now i've already a good starting point.
Thanks guys !
another question, maybe some of you guys are working with ACH bank account in the US ? That might also help I guess. It depend if that's allowed for a european company to own a bank account in the US...
I don't know the exact rule for the US but it's very common to have your business registered in one country and bank in another.
okay great. I'll try to get some info's from my bank about this as well then.
Thanks ! :-)
