Tracking Questions - IDFA & 3rd Party Impression Tracking

STM experts,

I'm still pretty green but having a lot of sucess thus far running mobile games. I've been testing different traffic sources and trying to use Voluum for all my tracking (to get used to it & develop good practice), but there's a few questions I have which I was hoping to get help on:

1. AFID - My 1st offer didn't require this variable and as a result I didn't have to implement it. But now I'm launching another offer and they are requesting an AFID. I've read up on it, and even identified in Decisive (for example) the token they provide {{{idfa}}}, my question is where/how to I add this in Voluum. There's a thread here, about this topic: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-IDFA-Variable - but I'm still uncertain with how to handle passing it through Voluum (I wrote in that thread what I was thinking, but Voluum doesn't seem to automatically populate "var3"). Example URLs for what my creative & and what my campaign link would look like would really help me. (I couldn't find a lot of documentation here or on Voluum, not sure if I'm just not searching in the right places as I'd prefer to not have to ask on here & figure it out myself).. thanks for the help!

2. RE: 3rd Party Impression Tracking. My affiliate network's client wants to track the impressions they are getting for the mobile CPI offer I'm running. They have some sort of "atlas 3rd party tracking pixel" they want set up on my delivery. Have you ever heard of this, have any experience implementing something like this? I have no idea how to set this up, I've emailed my traffic source support folks to seek help as my hunch is they would do this on their end if it's at all possible..? (but I could be completely wrong)

Apologies for the wordy questions, trying to communicate the perspective I'm thinking from to get the best possible feedback here. Thanks a ton, my 1st campaign in AM has been over 100% ROI and generated over $1,000 in profit in it's 1st week, super-stoked, restless to build and launch more..

1. By AFID do they mean unique device identifiers? AFID typically means affiliate ID, which would be required if you were rebrokering the offer to other affiliates under you, as a network does.

For unique device IDs you'll need to use whatever tokens the traffic source uses - these IDs must come from them. Say Decisive has {{{idfa}}} for iOS devices. You'd configure your traffic source in Voluum so that e.g. under custom variable 8 you have idfa | {{{idfa}}} | IDFA Value.

Since this is custom variable 8, you could then pass this to the network by having ...&s4={var8}... in your offer (affiliate) URL, for example.

2. You virtually always need the traffic source to whitelist you for this. Some will allow impression tags, some will not. It's best to ask their support. What this does is embed a piece of code alongside the advert which tells an external system when an impression is delivered. This way the 3rd party system will now how many impressions you deliver, on what sites, etc. This can be used for retargeting and in this case is likely so that they can do this + know what sites you run on. They may be wanting to protect their brand, but on the other hand it reveals your campaign entirely and they could then easily cut you out of the loop.

And of course, congratulations on your success!

Thanks a ton Zeno, sorry for the mix up there - IDFA is what exactly what I meant. (You hit the nail on the head w/ these answers.)
