Yesterday if I was just running the carrier app campaign these would have been my stats:
Carrier App Campaign:
Spent: 19.63
Rev: 18.5
ROI: -6%
Almost break-even. Almost there. I know I can get there with a few more tweaks. I can smell it but not taste it. Just within reach. So close, yet so far.
Today I made 2 more versions of my landers and will get the results tomorrow. Hopefully they are better…
Yesterday I asked my AM about the lead quality, after a few hours she got back to me and said I can drive more traffic. Woohoo!
Landers:
I was wondering why the numbers for A2-5 and A3-5 were so similar. Looking at them i realised it was the same lander! DOH!
Going to do today:
1. Grind out 5 more banners
2. Make 15 banners for my new game campaign
3. Get my LP ready for the game campaign
4. Submit new banners for A3 and run only traffic to A3. After new banners are approved for A3, stop everything related to A2.
just because we aren't replying doesn't mean we aren't reading.
seems like you have a nice gamplan.
Stick with it. This is awesome.

Done Yesterday:
1. Made 5 banners
2. Made 15 banners for new campaign.
3. Created and added new landers
4. wasted time by checking campaign stats about 10000 times all day…lol
So yesterday for A2 and A3, I made 2 extra landers each which haas a total of 6 landers per angle.
I read somewhere that someone A/b tested the landers after 5 downloads. So I did that and my new landers in the beginning did better than the older ones. But as time went by, they started performing worse then my original LP. So in mid campaign, I added the old lander again…then I spent all my daily budget and looked at the stats, the original lander still did worse than the new ones…
Things I need to do:
1. Make 5 more banners
2. Make new LP’s to get that CTR up!
Mistakes Made:
1. Cut LP’s too early
2. wasted time by checking campaign stats all day lol
This morning I woke up and I spent $10 and only had 1 conversion. It looks like this campaign is not good during the weekend (last weekend I had -90% ROI) So I will stop for saturday and sunday and start again on Monday.
You're inspiring me man!

Funny thing happened over the weekend. It was my best friend’s bachelor party and we all had to pitch in $200. But the whole time I was thinking, ‘dammit! I’m not spending $200 but $300 because atleast I’m getting -50% on my campaigns so I would make atleast $100 back’
I was thinking about all the clicks and advertising I could of bought for $300. Im sooo addicted to this!
So I stopped the campaign over the weekend since the conversions were really bad.
Landers:
Yesterday for the first $40 I tested 2 more landers. The results weren’t that great…

So ironic how my ugliest lander A3-6 has the highest CTR from the 3. But A3-1g has a 86% probability of being the best. A3-1r was doing so bad that I turned it off during the campaign.
Doing some extra calculations, if I just let A3-1g and A3-6 run the entire day my daily spend would be like this:
Spent: $40
Rev: 29.50
ROI: -26%
Not good enough.
I increased my budget an extra $20 to test 5 more landers based on variations of A3-1g.

I feel like I need to change my angle…
So there is no point in running traffic to these poorly performing landers, so I have stopped traffic again and need to rethink my strategy for this campaign.
Have you tried spying on the placements you're advertising on to see how other guys are running it?
Do that so you can get some ideas for ways to model your campaign after.
I can't spy on the placements because I don't know exactly where I am advertising. I only have 1 publisher that performed well (I black listed all the others) and its ID number..
Very nice aproach, i do similar campaign with this,
it help me alot

So the performance for my 5 landers (1g1-1g5) were not very good. So what I did was take the best performing landers combined them and made 2 more landers.
Then I got 2 completely different designs and made another 2 landers for a total of 4 different landers.

So looks like 1g6 and 1g8 did the best with the highest CR and CV… however still -ROI. Looks like I need to do more thinking about how I can increase the downloads. 1g7 and 1g9 have a 4% and 8% probability of being the best, so I’m going to cut them now. Let’s keep running 1g6 and 1g8 to see who wins.
I need to increase the CTR. When I was running the non-complaint landers for duspeedbooster my CTR was 40-50% but here it is only around 30%
non-compliant landers definitely work… but how can I get mine to work like that..hmm
What I'm going to do today:
After 1g6 and 1g8 hits 5 downloads each, I'm going to see which one is the winner then cut the loser out. Then I'm going to make some variations of the winner to get some better results.
Day 12:

Yesterday I stopped the campaign midway because the conversions were bad. I took a look at my campaign…decided, i need to make more angles.
Done yesterday:
1. Create 2 more angles
2. 10 more banners
3. stop campaign, submit new banners to traffic source and wait till they approve.
4. Kill all banners for A3. I just don't think its working enough to give me a positive ROI. Also there is some disconnect with A3 and my landers and offer.
Landers:
Not any really significant data but…looks like 1g8 has the highest CR and CV. If I only ran 1g8 yesterday I would have been -08% ROI….

Over a 3 day period, 1g8 is the best performing lander. 1g7 and 1g9 only have a 2% and 11% probability of being the best so I’m going to cut them.

So for tomorrow I will only have 1g6 and 1g8 landers running.
This is good stuff. Most affI loathes have been in Vegas over the past few days at ASW and many are at Whistler for the STM ski gathering so you may not get as much feedback as usual. But it looks like you are making daily improvements, and you are right

Ok so my ROI dropped yesterday…a lot. Let’s see why.
1. For the last week I have been going with A3. Compared to my new angles, A2 and A4 the CTR, CR and CV are all very similar. Its looks like its my landers…

2. My landers 1g6 and 1g8 performed very similarly. 1g8 has higher CTR but 1g6 has higher CV and CR.
Angle 2

Angle 4

1g6 has 72% probability of being the best….
Compared to Angle 3 with landers over 7 days.
Angle 3

So my new angles have a similar results as A3… actually 1g8 on A3 has a CR of 7.47 and CV of 2.33% which is a lot higher than the lander results on A2 and A4…
I feel like I need to think of new angles again.
Traffic Source 2:
Looking at traffic source #1, my only traffic source is 1 publisher. Going to the media planner, i see that this 1 publisher is the largest pub in my GEO. They have 100k impressions whereas all the other pubs have 1-2k. I looked up this pub in a neighbouring country and it also was the largest compared to all the others. So I thought… maybe the offer or similar offers has been overdone in this GEO with this 1 publisher.
So what can I do?
1. I can continue making new angles on traffic source #1 to try to get +ROI. I was so close to break even before…
2. Go to a different traffic source with more traffic in my GEO.
So I moved to traffic source #2.
During the campaign, was killing bad pubs and adding pubs with conversions onto new campaign. Remember, last week or so I created this campaign here. So I took all converting pubs and put them in new campaign.
So I have 2 campaigns here at traffic source #2. One with whitelisted pubs and one with blacklisted pubs.
Looking at my lander performance for traffic source 2 compared to traffic source 1 is like night and day. Look how my CTR dropped from 30-35% to 13%

*pulls hair and screams*
My CTR is lower, CR and CV are all lower. Ok breath, calm down.
Lets stop RON on traffic source #2, maybe this is killing my ROI. Let’s only run whitelisted pubs and check again tomorrow
*fingers crossed*
Need to do:
1. Think of new angles for Traffic source 1
2. make new landers for new angles on traffic source 1
3. keep monitoring and optimizing traffic source 2
4. Stop RON on traffic source 2, run on whitelisted pub campaign
100k impressions (daily?) isn't much.
What geo is it? I would suggest going to a traffic source that has more volume and more placements in that particular geo. If 90% of the traffic comes from one pub, it doesn't appear profitable on multiple angles/banners/offers, and the volume is so low that eliminating that pub makes it impossible to scale -- then ask yourself, is it worth your time?
For me, attacking something like this on 3 different sources where the end result after all that work and loss might be $5/day on each source, it just simply doesn't seem worth it.
Several $5/day profiting campaigns may be great for some, but if you lose $50 to get there then you need almost 2 weeks of unwavering performance to get back to breakeven.
In any case, you are doing well with your testing!
oops sorry zeno. This 1 pub (the only one I am running ads on) has a total of 732k impressions a day but with my budget I can only buy a max of 100k impressions...

Got bad news from the network that the payout is dropping from $.50 to $.45. Wow that sucks… but the good news is, my network paid me yesterday. Woohoo! I got $200, so will be using that $200 to buy more traffic.
So I turned off RON yesterday on traffic source #2 and my new campaign with targets that converted from the RON campaign ran…but I am -89% ROI today. I was hoping to wake up today to see green but more red…
gah…
So I renamed the profitable target campaign, testing instead of profitable. Created a new campaign with profitable targets from testing into this one….
maybe its the weekend…because this offer has always performed really bad on the weekends so I paused it last 2 weekends. So I will pause again on this new traffic source and wait until monday.
Landers:
Both landers performed worst than traffic source #1. Since I have a couple days, I’m going to try with new landers and new angles.

On another note, my traffic source rep from traffic source #1 emailed me asking why I paused all the campaigns. Looks like they are watching what I’m doing lol… told him i moved to a different traffic source. Maybe I can get some free advertising ha
As you can see...I have been running this campaign for 2-3 weeks now. Spent over $400 and still don't have a solid angle yet. and still -ROI. Maybe I should of started with more angles...maybe I should of stopped using the traffic source #1 for so long. I think for most of the time on traffic source #1 I was running on just 1 pub trying to get it to atleast break-even. As you see, the best I did was -8% ROI but most of the time I was -30%-40% ROI.

So I had dinner the other night and told my friends what I was doing. Apparently one knew a little about affiliate marketing..he called me a scammer and said that he doesn’t feel good about himself “pushing shit” to make money.
He said you can’t run a “real business” from affiliate marketing. I hope I prove him wrong.
So kinda sucks that the offer payout got slashed to $.45. But some good news, adnetwork asked me why I wasn’t spending any more money with them. I told them I couldn’t get the campaign profitable so they dropped CPM price by 33% to get me to spend more money with them…and as you see, I have started again lol.
So over the last few days I did some research and created 6 new angles. 2 landers each and a total of 30 new banners. Loaded them all up, cut bad handsets from the previous angles...(should of done that sooner). Here are the results… funny about the A6 is nothing even related to mobile..isn't even available on mobile LOL

After today I will be cutting probably most of the angles. Hopefully I will have a clear winner today. Sad thing is, from all 6 new angles and 12 new landing pages my stats from running A2 and A3 are better (in terms of CR & CV) than all my new angles and LP’s :*(

After today I’m going to compare all stats (old angles vs new angles) and hopefully have a decision on what I should run with.
.
.
.
To be honest with you all. I don’t know why I’m still running this campaign lol. I’m trying to get it to work and spending a lot of money in the process. These 6 new angles will cost me a good $60 of testing which will kill my ROI even more.
I see a lot of people just cutting campaigns to early…I’m a type of personality that needs to fix something or build something and when something this bad happens -50%+ ROI I just feel determined to make this profitable.
Hopefully I can. I know I can do it. This offer obviously converts...just need some guidance.
Nice work on the new angles! Definitely keep that testing up.
How many offers and networks have you tested so far? More is always better!
It can be very tempting to keep pushing an offer that's almost working, but most of the time it's better to move on and find one that works better right off the bat!

Ok yesterday was a bad day. I noticed 1/2 through the campaign that the offer I was promoting was paused and it was directing my traffic to a very similar offer.
Ok that’s not THAT bad. So what I did was, I went to F5 and saw that the offer was still running. So I started that and started to rotate offers. 1 at F5 and the other similar offer at the other network.
Angles:
I killed A4, A7, A9 pretty early in the campaign. They were performing horribly compared to A5, A6 and A8.

Then as the day went on, I paused A5 and A8 and only ran A6.
Looking at the stats…A8 had a higher CR than A6… dammit
landers:
Looking at my Landers for A6, I canceled A6-2 and let A6-1 run. As you see here, A6-1 lander was performing pretty bad so it just had to go.

Offers:
So you can see here I am rotating 2 offers. The 2 separate lines for Offer 2 is because as you remember the offer was paused and was being redirected to a similar offer.

So….not sure which offer is performing better.
Both stats look the same to me,,,
So lets compare the New Angles vs Old Angles

Looks like Old Angle 2 & 3 are the winners. This is F*)(*&*( frustrating because I just spent $60 to show that my old angles were better..?
Not sure if I should move forward with this campaign…can someone please give me some insight?
So far I have created:
* 44 landers
* 90 banners
* tons of angles
Maybe I should kill it and move to a more higher payout campaign…
Decided to stop this campaign and focus on my winning campaign. Too bad I couldn't make it work.
VERY good call. If you've got something that's working, milk it hard.
Most campaigns won't work. It's all about the volume.
