why do people avoid gaming offers?

I don't want to generalise with my title but I went through all 14 pages of the follow alongs and hardly any gaming offers. Why are most newbies including myself doing sweeps and utilities but not games?

For those experienced in mobile marketing have you seen just higher conversions with utilities and have chosen to not promote games?

Should I avoid gaming offers since I'm new?

Simple answer is that utility apps, sweeps ec. has a broad appeal. If you do RON campaigns you need offers with a very broad appeal.

Games in general do not have as broad an appeal and unless you can target it can be tougher to make games work. Also, the games that have good enough payouts are usually hard-core games and appeals to a select market.

From a marketing point of view: people will do more to avoid pain (OMG this virus is about to wipe my phone!) than to gain pleasure (play this awesome new game)

With that being said, don't assume anything! The right offer to the right traffic can absolutely work

sounds like with utilities with its broad appeal has more of a chance to making more $$$

I have seen a bunch of app games direct linked using display traffic during spying.

I can't talk for someone else, but I just picked something else as my niche because I think games are very unique in how to promote them and I'd rather learn a different way of promotion. One of the biggest differences I noticed is that all those game banners are pretty fancy with a lot of images and graphics - would take me way too long to create that. Had the same impression when reading some Facebook gaming offer follow alongs here.

and what deondup said about the marketing point of view. I do however think some app games do have a mainstream appeal and could work on RON. But the selection is a lot less compared to other niches in the networks I'm in

As mentioned above, games are harder to create decent angles for. There are often problems with cap and lack of offer stability (paused/unpaused). Also, the file sizes are very large, making it harder to get downloads.
