I would just like to say that Thrive is an awesome tracking system and their customer service is 2nd to none.
They didn't ask me to write this up and I don't work for them. I'm just a user and to be completely transparent... I haven't tried
One of the things you need is a tracking solution, especially in this industry. I tried Thrive as a free trial member and yesterday, after almost 30 days of using it... I just gave them my credit card to become a full paying member. So, if you're new and keep hearing that you need a tracker and you're looking for one... I would go with Thrive.
The reason I chose Thrive over
Having control of most of the aspects of tracking and the technology is important to me. Also, I know who to go to if something goes wrong... if it's a server issue, I go to Liquid Web, if it's a Thrive issue - I go to Thrive. With hosted platforms, your tech support for both elements is usually at the same spot, often with the initial inquiry being handled by a lower level tech person who truly knows neither. Again, I haven't used Voluum so perhaps they do it differently but 95% of the time with most hosted scenario's, it is handled how I just described. With Thrive, and with Aziz in particular, they have been extremely quick, thorough and patient... even with all my questions and detailed inquiries.
The reason I chose Thrive over the free solutions out there is for their tech support and accountability. You just don't get the same level of service with a free app/software package. That's not just a knock on Prosper... that is with almost any free platform. You often find yourself on the support forums trying out hacked-up solutions when things go wrong on the open-source/free platforms, which sometimes leads to bigger issues. And if you aren't a tech person, it could be a path towards complete frustration and failure. Thankfully for me, I know how to code but it still can be a pain. The sense of urgency often isn't high with free platforms who do provide support. Now, Prosper may be that "unicorn" but with Thrive's cost being relatively low enough - it's just worth it to me to have that peace of mind.
So, if you're looking for a solid tracking system where $99 a month (plus server costs which will most likely range from $50 to $100 a month for a solid VPS server) won't kill your wallet... take a look at Thrive.
PS - I have gotten a lot from STM for the short-time I have been here, so I figured I would give a little something back, which may help some undecided rookies on which route to take.
