Failed click flow for my first mobile campaign

I'm about to launch my first mobile campaign:

App install (Google Play) from F5 Media, tracking in Voluum, traffic source is Decisive, geo BR.

I followed Zeno's tutorial today to set up tracking in Voluum, and everything seems to be working fine on desktop. When I click the link in Decisive, I get taken to the Google play store, and the headers seem to be correct when I check the browser console. When I follow the same link on my iPhone however, it is unable to reach the server, and when I tried with an Android emulator, I get an error message:

Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks!

is the google play store installed on the emulator?

I've only just installed the emulator on my computer so I don't think so. Could that be the issue? That's it's trying to launch the Google play app instead of navigating to a web address? I guess that would explain why it's working on desktop but not mobile.

Doesn't work in Browserstack either... wouldn't that have the Google play app installed by default?

No, most emulators don't - the app store is an app in itself and requires permissions to install to the device, clearly not something you would allow on e.g. browserstack. Use Andydroid or whatever its called. Even on your desktop, just follow headers and see if a market:// link comes up. You should also have rules in Voluum to not send iOS traffic to the aff link... That's not going to work...

Thanks for that. Here's the last request header that loads on desktop. It has market.android.com/details within it, is this ok?

I have set up Decisive to only display the ad in Brazil on Android devices, so do I still have to have rules in Voluum for devices?

Thanks!

Not sure what that URL really means.

If it's Android, use http://www.andyroid.net/ and connect to a VPN first.

If it's iOS, real device or pretty boned.

It won't matter so much with device rules since iOS devices will be useless to you, but I normally put a "if =/= Android -> direct play store URL" rule in Voluum so that reviewers don't go to the affilaite link. That will catch everything.

Thanks! I tried Andyroid but it's windows only. I think I'll grab a cheap Android handset to test with in future. I got my AM at F5 to test the campaign link and it worked properly so I think I'm safe to launch. Shame the offer payout got reduced while I was mucking around with this

Is this the correct way to do this in Voluum?

* Click Campaign -> Edit -> Add Rule
* Operating System and version -> Is not -> Android -> Save
* New Lander -> Enter direct Google Play URL for app

?

And should I do the same thing for Country =/= Brazil?

Easiest way is default path to play page and add a rule for country = BR and OS = android that goes to aff link. For testing on a real device use airdroid to make your life easy.
