Hey,
I just want to know, do I really have to be good at web development in order to make this work? Do I really need to understand all the concepts of HTML, CSS, etc. etc?
Are all super affiliates that good with creating custom landing pages from scratch?
I feel like this is my biggest hurdle, and I feel so slow when creating a landing page. It would take me days to even create one.
.
You don't need to be able to design pages at all - you can outsource that.
But, you should understand how to make minor adjustments and importantly how to insert tracking codes and where they go - i.e. master tracking.
When you are starting out I think you really need to put the effort in to understanding at least the basics of what's going on.
If you don't, I just foresee lots of issues arising from remarkably simple things that you should understand... e.g. you accidentally have <a hred="link">Click me!</a> in your lander and send $100 to it and wonder why you get no click throughs... super simple mistakes will plague early campaigns, this is normal, and mitigated by knowledge of fundamentals.
yes you should have at least a very basic understanding, else you'll be taken advantage of when you outsource.
I was in the same position as you and I just went through this http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp
and then followed Caurmen's lander tutorial.
Grab a html for dummies book to learn the basics of how it all works.
No need to master. But understanding what's going on in context. Then being able tweak is very very useful.
