The most UNRELATED headline! (12)

The most UNRELATED headline!

You couldn’t resist, could you! I said it was unrelated! But since you are here, you might as well take a look at my questions

Hi Guys,

I have a few questions regarding my first few angles. I have gathered the questions into this thread. I hope you will give me your 5 cents! Any input is greatly appreciated.

I just started out with UC Browser in Indonesia using Decisive two weeks ago. I have been running four angles following the cookbook appetiser approach.

I have been cutting placements but I have ended up with a total of all four angles on around 9000 clicks and 2 conversions. I imagine that is because I am a total newbie and suck donkey balls but I would like to figure out if there could be some external matter that might be causing some of it (gotta learn as much as possible from my money spent!).

I read the excellent thread on how to detect bot traffic if you have a LP. Since I’m DL I’m wondering if there is some way to detect bots without a LP?
Checking out placements, it appears that I am getting from one on Smaato.com in India when I am in fact using Decisive in Indonesia. Could this be? (and is it perhaps an Indian site/app used by Indonesians so it actually is relevant?)

I am wondering why the last two of my angles are only getting minimal traffic on Decisive (like a few bucks per campaign throughout the whole day). I read the post “Quick note on Decisive bidding” and confirmed that I should be fine on all three conditions. My previous two campaigns had the same settings and the traffic was ok on those. Any thoughts?

A quick last one: Does anyone know a spy tool like WRW for Asian countries?

Thank you for reading through!

Having the exact same issue the past couple days with decisive.

Previously campaign was spending ~70% of allocated day spend. Then it suddenly dropped off to maybe 10% a day, bumped up bids by 25c, and still no traffic improvement.

Hi KingKong,

My first questions would be: What is your bid method? How many placements are you targeting or is the campaign fairly wide? What is the win percentage on the traffic you are bidding on?

Hi Andrea,

I'm using SmartCPM and targeting fairly wide. I'm dividing my angles into campaigns of sites/apps/wifi/mobile data. On the site campaigns i'm seeing a win percentage of 84% and 76% on one angle and 38% and 37% on the other angle. However on the app campaigns in seeing 3.9% and 1.7% on the first angle and 9% and 5.2% on the second. Do you think it is because i'm being overbid on apps or?

Thank you for looking into it/explaining

@thedav thats odd, perhaps andrea can look into it as well?

@thedav

Sorry guys it is hard to troubleshoot on here. More questions: Are you using generic creatives? Are you seeing a slow down of traffic in a particular geo?

It does sounds like you are being outbid. Apps generally have higher CPMs than sites. Try adjusting the cpms slightly.

Given how DSPs work I believe 99% if the time if traffic suddenly drops it will be because someone is outbidding you. There may be 1000 advertisers in your Geo. It only takes one with a high budget and high bid to dominate a particular placement.

Would the bids be down? I thought the bids would stay consistant, but the wins would go down. ON Decisive this week my bids are almost zero on some camps that have been running for weeks.

Hi @fishinseo I didn't read it as bids were down. Only traffic dropped.

As we figured out yesterday lots of placements have readjusted their allowed types of campaigns in the new year. So if it is a narrowly targeted campaign those adjustments might have a big affect on the campaigns.

Thanks for the advice guys

@Andrea Decisive

I have tried both generic and niche creatives. Yes, in my case it's in Indonesia but I stopped the campaigns a few days ago.

On another note: Does anyone know a spy tool like wrw for Asian countries?

Hi Kingkong,

The best way for me to have a look at your campaigns is to sum up what you have seen and email it to support@decisive.is and please include the ad id and user name.

That way we can actually look at the campaigns to see what you can adjust to get more traffic.

Hi Andrea,

Thank you for helping out! I put the campaigns to sleep so there's no need. I just wanted to have an idea of what happened
