in 2012 google bought meebo. no problem i started using imo.im but last year they stopped support for all thirdparty messaging networks.
i found plus.im and iwantim.com but neither of them supports skype
anyone knows a web-based solution which supports both skype and other third party messaging networks?
Trillian is what I have always used. Not sure if the web version also does Skype, local app certainly does

no wonder...thanks microsoft!
With Trillian you can replace the Skypekit.exe with an older one and this allows Trillian to connect to Skype. And yeah, it's Microsoft's fault.
Here is the skypekit.exe I use + instructions - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...7/skypekit.rar
Basically:
1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Trillian\plugins
2. Rename skypekit.exe to skypekit-backup.exe
3. Place the skypekit.exe in this folder (from the archive)
4. Go to the properties of the new skypekit.exe > compatability tab > run in compatability mode for Windows 7
5. Start Trillian and Skype should now connect.
Not sure but this could also do the trick for other clients if they use a local skypekit.exe.
