What's the difference between a RON campaign vs a CPM campaign?

On my traffic source I see both of these as an option. They seem to have the same targeting options... so what's the difference?

RON=run of network

CPM=cost per 1000 impressions

so one is about targeting and the other is about bidding

Yah, RoN just means you get traffic from all placements/publishers/sites.

CPM just means you pay per impression i.e. view of an ad.

These two terms aren't linked in any way.

Though... CPM on RoN is a good way to burn money :P

Yeah so on Ero I can create either a new RON campaign, a new CPM campaign or flat rate. I get what flat rate is, but what's the difference between a RON campaign and a CPM campaign. They appear to be the same thing pretty much.

CPM probably just means you get to choose the placements. It's a bit of a misnomer on their part I suppose.

they have a strange home screen, but still, RON and CPM are in different columns. in their site navigation system CPM is a kind of RON (which is really weird since they're not related at all)
