Traffic Sources for Diet Squeeze Page

Hi,

I am intending to start on diet niche by driving traffic to my diet squeeze page. Where is the best place to collect emails for diet squeeze page? PPV, popups or display ads? Any ideas?

These can all work.

If you want cheap visits then go for pops, but don't expect a high email opt-in rate.

If you go with display you'll have pricier traffic but higher intent from clickers, and a lot of scope to optimise banners and placements.

Search will give you the highest user intent and opt-in rate no doubt, but will invariably be the most expensive.

I would put just as much attention into the monetisation of users once they have enlisted - i.e. the email back end. Once you get people on a list, you can nurture their relationship with you, and thus their purchasing intent, regardless of which traffic source they came from.

So I too have been thinking about this and was actually just about to use 50OnRed pops to generate the traffic, I planned on building lists around different verticals and stuff. On 50OnRed I like the fact that the US is only around one cent per view but you mentioned the opt-in is not so great, can I ask if perhaps you could suggest any verticals that it would work with using this please.
