ASW Las Vegas - Should I Go? (14)

ASW Las Vegas - Should I Go?

I've decided to take a do or die path to affiliate marketing. I have around $19k available through CCs then I'm gonna die trying to make pushing big vertical cpa offers on ppv work. A common theme I'm noticing that helped a lot of super affiliates get to where they are is networking and building connections.

So if I wanted the full immersion ASW experience in Vegas, it's going to cost me around $3k.

So should I do it?

The $19k is all the money I have to cover tracking/forums/lp outsourcing/advertising/misc costs associated with trying to make it work in this biz. With the obvious majority of it going to just advertising/testing.

Would I get good value out of the $3k going to ASW?

Hi Bob,

A networking/professional event as ASW could certainly benefit you in a myriad of different ways, from motivation, learning, meeting online acquaintances, etc.

Personally, I would recommend you to do it with no doubt. Just dive in. But prepare diligently and be focused on what you want to achieve from it. Set up meetings, learn who is going to be exhibiting / speaking / get involved.

Treat it as an investment, a way to grow and help you put things in perspective for 2015

This is a solid start to get some pointers before attending a conference: http://advisingmatters.berkeley.edu/...nal-conference

^^ What savri0 said.

It's easy to get overwhelmed and distracted at ASW. So definitely make sure you have so goals for each meeting you set up, and for when you walk the exhibition halls and meet market.

You have 3 weeks before Asw to go ham and launch as many campaigns as possible. The more you learn from campaigns now, the more you will get out of ASW.

Definitely worth wild, but if your from Europe I personaly would hold off and go to the STM meet up instead and save a lot of money that way

I'm confused, how does ASW cost $3k?

You didn't mention where you're from, but if you're from the U.S. you can do it cheap

Flights $300
Hotel $300 for something cheap ($100 a night)
Food $100
Pass $200, or you can skip the pass and just go to the parties / network outside the conference.
Less than $1k right there.

If you're coming from somewhere like Europe then it's better to go to STM London and save some costs.

I think at this stage it's better to spend the money running campaigns, rather than going to a conference and hoping it pays itself off.

$19k is plenty of cash. I had my first big campaign at $4k spend, and I've noticed most guys usually $3k-$7k in losses before their big one.

ASW is a blast and is a great networking event. But, as others have mentioned, you may get more bang for your buck by waiting for the STM London meetup. If you're already in Europe then it's a no brainer. If you're in the US then you can definitely get by much cheaper than $3k for ASW. If London is an option instead of Vegas then I would suggest that you buckle down and test as much as you can between now and March to get some more experience under your belt. Then come meet up with us in London

wow, so much feedback and quickly, glad i decided to add this forum to my list...

I really have no idea what to expect at ASW, but I saw the all access pass was like $2249 and I figured around another $700-$800 on top for travel, hotel, food. And since I figured I had no idea what to expect or what these events were like, maybe I should go all in for full immersion?

So far I've spent around $4k on TV and only made like $900 back so far, so it's certainly been a struggle. I've also recently shifted to focusing purely on health trial offers, so it's probably why I'm spending so much money, but I know it can work.

I'm in the US btw (NC). I do have social skills, but just had no idea what to expect or how ASW works. It was always my "dream" when I made some $$ in aff marketing to go to one of those things. But it looks like I "do" have the "resources" to go, and since it's something I commonly hear is a big contribution for many successful affiliates, I thought I should be taking a "similar" roadmap.

Just get the networking pass. I have never gotten one of the higher access passes so I can't truly say from experience that it's not worth the money. But, I think most would agree with me that it's not worth the extra cash you'll spend on it. In my opinion, you'll learn way more spending that extra $2k on testing new campaigns and being a member here.

THIS. You can even get a decent hotel for $40/night in vegas. Depends on how committed you are.

With that said. I don't think ASW is a crucial event to get started. I think If Vegas is going to cost you anymore than $1k, i would consider not going and just being smart with your money, testing and reading a LOT at home.

I think you will get more out of STM London ... it is free for STM members.

Alright if you're based in the states then you should definitely go.

Get the $200 pass if you want to get access to the floor. The $2k pass is seriously designed for newbies that don't know any better. I think it's worth walking the floor if you've never done it.

If you have any affiliate managers you talk to then schedule a meet up with them. Go to all the parties that are open like the STM. I'm also throwing a free seminar at ASW so make sure you sign up for that on Monday.

Good luck!

There is an AirBNB listing for a timeshare (inside a hotel--junior penthouse) for $168/night with Two (2) beds right behind the paris hotel. Staggering distance so to speak and bonus points, you won't need to rent a car. The hotel also has shuttle service to the airport, so that saves me two uber trips.

I'm seriously considering flying in just for the party and the networking events surrounding ASW. Anyone have a list of events?

Flights from JFK for me will come out to ~$300
I'd arrive in on the 17th, and leave on the 21st.

Anyone up to split a room on AirBNB? (You'll get your own bed, I promise).

So for me, just to get in the area from NYC will cost ~$900. I can cut the hotel in half with a roommate, and get down to ~$600 for the trip. So figure $1000 max to include things like baggage fees, food, and uber rides. (Renting is impractical in a city center, and parking costs are not worth it.).

I'd prefer someone flying in from the NYC area so we can discuss campaigns on the way over, and back.

OH and I'll need to get a couple more metal business cards stamped. I know they were a hit at the events I attended surrounding ASE.

thanks stackman, I guess I'll just sit back then. I haven't found a profitable campaign yet, so I should probably get one of those before I spend money on something like ASW.
