So I created a new landing page template for an upcoming PPV campaign.

The html code is only ~450 characters long. So the HTML part at least is a mere 450 bytes. Very quick to load. The placeholder image is ~8kb. So I have minimized the code as much as possible to really speed up the landing page.
Things that I'm not so sure of:
1) Is this sort of template workable? Do I need to go balls-out with a rules style lander? Or simple and clean? (This isn't really 'ugly' imo)
2) Are features such as geo-targeting, countdown timers, shaking buttons, etc really worth putting on an initial popup? I had always imagined a popup to be a large banner ad with the ability to code virtually the entire thing in HTML/CSS/JS. The goal of the popup to get the user to click through to either a secondary landing page, or even the offer.
3) What other styles of landing page are out there in the PPV space? I noticed in my YTZ campaigns that were pop centric, they user got what looked to be a fairly generic 'error' message that was inside the popped window. That then fed into a more traditional rules-design landing page.
Looks pretty compelling to me ;-P
1) I think for PPV you benefit a lot from using simple, fast loading pages. But, I do see the rules lander a lot of adult traffic, particular direct nav/redirect traffic.
So I'm not sure if short and sharp will work better, but at least you can pump out 5 simple landers in the time it takes to bother with anything as complex as a rules lander.
2) Making things more specific and using countdowns, scarcity etc. tends to work on most sources so, worth it? I'd say so. Probably won't turn a loser into a winner though.
3) Browser surveys? The ones where they are dynamic to your browser/OS/ISP and so on and ask for your review.
