Possible to target facebook page fans?

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to target people who have liked certain pages (i'm not the admin of those pages).
is this possible?

how about using custom audience? is it allowed to scrap the data from those pages and use it to target?

If the page is big enough a precise interest may be available.

If not, there is no direct way to target page fans if you don't own the page.

You could scrape FB User IDs of people who have commented/liked posts on the page but FB has really clamped down on the use of custom audiences where you didn't collect the data through your own app.

Another option is action spec targeting (deprecated some time in 2015) that will let you target people who have commented on or mentioned the page in the last 14 days, which is a smaller subset of the page fan audience and this targeting mode generally costs too much, in my experience (think $2+ CPC bids to get clicks that are ~$1).

Gotcha!

Do i have to prove i own the scrapped data every-time i upload a custom audience?
or Facebook would just stop the ads with some warning when using a scraped custom audience?

I believe when you try to upload the data it asks you to select an app and it knows if the users are connected with that app or not, so thwarts you immediately.

yeah, unfortunately you can only target UID's of people that have engaged with your app. facebook noticed publishers abusing UID scraping a few months ago and implemented this change to protect users : |
