Hi Everyone - This is my first post after working on my AM for about 3 months - loving all of the great advice!
One of my biggest challenges so far has been getting a good CTR on my landing pages. I've tried a few different verticals - game installs, sweeps and have been working on an anti-virus offer for the past few weeks. The offer I'm working on has a good conversion rate of almost 10% so I just need more clicks to it!
I've been getting only around a 1% CTR on my landing pages no matter the angles, optimization or look/feel.
- For performance I've gotten the size of the pages to the 60KB range and am getting 95%+ on the speed tests
- I'm using a few angles: Keep your data private, Avoid being hacked, Benefits of virus protection.
- Have 2 landers that match the look/feel of the offer, 1 that's completely different and 1 that has ratings & testimonials.
- Some landers call out the users' device or carrier
Any ideas as a next step to start boosting CTR on my landing pages? The offer is converting pretty well but I have to send so much traffic to get clicks to the offer because of the landers.
Rip a lander that you see predominate in the wild and pit it against your own.
Does it outperform them by a long way or is it's performance also terrible?
Poor performance can come from a lot of things. Heavy landers (60 KB is still quite a bit for a simple mobile lander...), poor design and ad copy, erroneous lander display (poor design), poor load speed and hosting, tracking errors, etc.
Your job right now is to do some tests to figure out where the problems are coming from. It could be that the landers are just terrible - or your traffic is, but first you should vet the other areas that can be more directly tested.
Test the pages on Browserstack to see how they display on lots of devices. Test them on Pingdom for load times. Go through the tracker > lander > tracker > offer funnel yourself on a mobile device and confirm it works.
