Hi there,
Everyone recommends BeyondHosting when it comes to Hosting for a paid traffic landing page. Wouldn't a DigitalOcean VPS do the same job? The $10/monthly plan has 1GB RAM (more than on BeyondHosting), 1 Core, 30GB SSD and 2TB Transfer. I'm running like 4-5 websites on the $20/monthly plan and it's pretty good. The only thing that restricts it, would be the 2TB Transfer Limit. But I don't see a problem here in the beginning.
What do you think? DigitalOcean VPS vs BeyondHosting.

I have no experience with Beyondhosting, but DO is pretty good. However it is not managed, so you have to know the stuff or need to hire someone to do the setup for you. The good part about DO is that you can make servers in different geos (US, EU, Asia) - especially useful if you are doing mobile.
Yeah, I'm familiar with linux so I can configure it from scratch. Just wondering why everyone recommends BH since it's quite expensive :P
BH has some interesting tech going on and I would argue their servers likely boast higher performance.
DigitalOcean is completely unmanaged.
It's apples and oranges really.
In one case you have a 24/7 team who will set up your server, install a tracker for you, troubleshoot issues and help with lots of things other.
In the other case you have VPS that you can deploy/destroy at will and DO couldn't care less about your lack of skills with Linux, though they have exceptional tutorials.
All things considered, the extra price of BH is probably worth it for a newbie and those who have no server admin skills or desire to spend their time on that.
