Banner traffic that allows misleading ads

what up

So I found tapit which allows uploading misleading banners and landers and I'm looking for more like them. I know decisive/airpush are more strict for example.

Any traffic sources you recommend?

LeadBolt let's get you get away with a bit. But, you'll find most places are starting to crack down on it.

I think you should flip the problem on it's head and focus on running campaigns that don't rely on being misleading to the point that most traffic sources are not allowing it...

Better to adapt than fight a losing battle and fall well behind the pack.

Good point Zeno.
I'm doing a lot of low payout app installs right now, and from spying and everything I have seen (besides direct linking) was either in a grey area or completely misleading.
How much completely "legit" campaigns are actually out there in general, and how much for low payout app installs? My current approach is "try whatever works" at low volume, and then once I would reach a point to scale make it legit enough not to get banned.

what is misleading? "You have a virus" is something everyone would agree on being misleading. but yet it is still running. test it, if it works and they allow keep it, if it does not work then move on.

every traffic network has a different definition of "misleading"

for example smaato stopped me from using battery icons because it misleads the user to believe that his battery is charging LOL

and google adx rejects every ad after its run a while because its misleading too.

exoclick find the moving CSS bar misleading.

i see this misleading thing as more of a quirk, its like a female like or not liking to eat something, dont try to figure out why, just test, if rejected move on, i dont even ask why its rejected nowadays, i just delete the campaign and submit again and if its rejected then ill try to figure out why, most of the time they wont tell u.

Make sure that the advertiser is satisfied with your angle. I've seen tons of offers where the advertiser says that they do not allow misleading ads such as "Scanning for Virusses..." or "You have a virus".

as xavierfok said every traffic network has a different definition of "misleading".
so just test every angle,if disapproved, just move on to another angle.

I think the pinnacle of misleading in this context is the "You have (6) viruses!" line people use, which is patently false.

Stuff like "Improve battery life by 67%" may be exaggerating how much you'll get but you may get some improvement, so it's lower down on the spectrum.

The animated stuff, well, that's up to the traffic source, and some of them have a problem with everything.

In the end as long as the advertiser isn't unhappy with it (so your leads are safe) then you should just find traffic sources that are less anal about something simple like a battery charging animation.

As far as I am concerned, marketing is about emphasising benefits and using highly refined skills of persuasion to convince consumers to take a certain action.

I think most folks can (and should) admire outstanding salespeople (e.g. Billy Mays) and outstanding marketers (David Oglivy) who are masters of this craft.

I have the highest respect for such practitioners.

I personally can't say I share the same high opinion, however, when I see someone misleading or even outright lying to people just to make a quick buck.

Its more like every ad approval agent at a traffic source has his/her definition of whats misleading what is not.

We had resubmited ads 9 hours apart to test that theory and many times it works.

Same experience here. Sometimes the differences are incredible, "completely misleading" banners get through and other times even "completely legit" banners get rejected (though that happened only once). - In "" because of course this is always subjective to some point.

@Attila, for Decisive you do not even have to wait for hours, I just clone them immediately and get different banners approved. I tried waiting some time, but just cloning them immediately got me the same results. And I change up the way the banners are uploaded. If you have not read it jump to my little case study on the topic and on filters:

I guess you already know all that, but maybe I can give you some value back for those great newsletters and your blog
