This could be VERY interesting - AI for the masses (7)
I've been going on about the potential for AI usage in AM for ages. Machine learning, photo recognition, and other cool stuff has enormous potential for AM - but until now, it's been truly scary deep-geek science stuff.
However, a new startup called MetaMind just launched. It's claiming to offer non-geek-friendly AI tools for business - this could be huge.

Of particular interest to us: two areas. Their text tools could potentially, for example, sit watching Twitter and suggest affiliate offers to people looking for the relevant things - "Can anyone recommend a Web host?". And their vision tools - well, I had a discussion a while ago with some serious AI geeks about the potential to train an AI to spot likely high-converting images from a mass of other images. Could. Be. Huge.
They've got an AI vision demo available right now - check out https://www.metamind.io/vision/ . Some of their tools are pretty impressive - like the one which can tell a picture of a cat from a picture of a dog. It didn't get a single picture wrong when I tested it, and I wasn't going easy on it.
Obviously, this stuff could look great but end up being useless. I'll be doing some tests with this stuff in the New Year, as part of my new project within STM (more news on that soon!). But until then, have a look and start thinking of the possibilities...
What would you like to use AI for in your campaigns?
Setting up campaigns, choosing angles, making creatives, landing pages, optimizations while I sit at the beach. Too much to ask?
Setting up campaigns - yep.
Choosing angles - probably not.
Making creatives - much of that is doable with AI, although it's definitely in the harder part of the problem space.
Landing pages - not all of the design, but some of it.
Optimizations - much of the optimisation we do could be automated.
So yes, a lot of AM is subject to automation with reasonably clever current-gen AI and automation tools.
Of course, that could be a problem as much as an advantage...
Well, the true power of this is account generation *wink* FB *wink*. Some of it is being done already, but there's room for improvement.
Creating "real" profiles, gathering, adding information, posting, adding friends, etc.
Watson already gives this capability. The interface sucks but the power is definitely there.
I was looking for machine leaning a few days ago to look if I can use this to improve my Adserver.
Well, I've looked at some documents on the subject, man this is really complicated !
The only thing I really understand is that I just suck in mathematics ^^
That kind of solution that can make the usages of those new technologies easier will be really useful in the future.
But for now, like adivity said, they have to start beating a 5 yo boy ^^
It seems to be a free service, but I assume it came with some fee if you want to add more volume of datas ? I cannot find the information on their website.
