So, I'm finally stepping into the real of running my own offers!
I've created an ebook that I'd like to sell. I know how to handle the landing page build and all of the traffic, but I'm a little iffy on what to do with all the backend stuff. I'm curious how you guys would handle everything.
I think doing amazon and/or apple is a bad idea. They take like 30% of the sale or something crazy like that and they get all the emails. They do however, do all the processing, etc.
What is the best alternative to Amazon and Apple?
Should I be doing this entirely on my own and setting up my own processing and hosting the download? That seems a little tricky.
Is there a good alternative? Clickbank?
Thanks in advance for all the advice!
Bodeyguy, if you don't want to to pay a 30% commission. What type of commission are you looking to pay for people to advertise it for you?
Sorry this doesn't answer your question but I am curious?
Is it a mass-market ebook? What is the price point?
There are obvious advantages to being listed on Amazon if you are targeting mass-markets at retail prices.
If not,
E-Junkie is decent for very basic distribution, and it only costs $5/month:

I use Volusion to handle my ebook shipping and processing. It costs around £30/month.
Pretty decent software, but bloated if you are only selling a single ebook.
My experience in selling an e-book is to create a dedicated website for it, with a splash page & offer page.
Splash page - get them to subscribe with email and name, in exchange for a free short sample of your e-book. Once they do that, they will be brought to the....
Offer page - get them to purchase the main e-book (you may have to do some copywriting here). Even if they don't, do some email marketing with their subscribed emails & they may buy it once they have read how good your free sample e-book is.
Hope it helps
