I've never been great at answering generic 'job interview' type questions so, with that in mind, I'm a bit stumped by some of the emails I've had from some of the affiliate networks I've applied to.
One qu that cropped up was:
"What kind of offers are you looking for and how are you planning to generate traffic?"
Presumably I'd say that I'm looking for mobile related offers and will be planning to generate traffic using Decisive as a traffic source? Or, is this a cue to talk in more depth about the strategies I intend to employ (e.g. statistical analysis, a/b testing, creative copy, maximising ad performance through doing XYZ, etc.)?
Also, one of them asked me: "what type of traffic am I looking to generate". As a newbie, this is a tough question to answer - I'd imagine that would depend very much on offer variables and tailoring my campaigns accordingly.
Any advice or input from those with similar frustrations would be much appreciated!
Yeah, as cmdeal said, best to be straight up about being a n00b (they'll know for sure anyway when your initial volume is low).
Also, some networks don't love new people, but will recommend you a network that does take them, and sometimes also give you a target $/week that would be good to be at before reapplying.
For what I would say exactly? Just say you will be mostly doing paid mobile advertising on the low-barrier DSPs, and that because you're new, you're going to try a lot of verticals, and you're open to recommendations.
Thanks guys - it's so awkward using buzz words when you haven't yet got the hang of what you're even talking about! So, I'm glad to know I can keep it simple. I'll take your advice cmdeal and try and put across my enthusiasm to make up for my lack of experience.
Lovegtm - Advidi stipulates a minimum target of $1000 for the first month, so I guess most of us newbies can cross that one off the list
