My first real mobile campaign

Hi Everyone,

Like the title says this is my first real go at mobile. So lets' get right to it.

So about my campaign.

Offer: Zuliliy.com
GEO: US
Payout: $2.4
Offer type: Email Submit (it's a members only eCommerce site)
Ad Newtwork: decisive
Tracking: Voluum

I ran $100 at it yesterday so I will show the creatives in my decisive stats.

I really wish it came back with a little better data.

With $100 spent I only ended up with one conversion @ $2.40 and The CTR on my lander seems pretty awful.

Well this a bit discouraging. I setup caurmen's bot detection and ran 119 clicks through it and here are the results.

One of those real clicks was me so that makes it:

22 real clicks with 4 of them coming from the wrong country.

That's 72% bot traffic. Does this seem possible?

Is there a time delay on the data appearing? How many clicks were tracked network side or by Voluum as clicking through?

I don't think it's a delay. I started the bit.ly tracking yesterday when Voluum was at 1825 clicks. I let the campaign finish out the day and it finished at 3,572 clicks.

So after the detection was inserted the day finished out like this.

Voluum: 1747 Clicks
Bit.ly: 152

I'm surprised you even got 1 conversion. That's a good sign -- the offer converts.

$100 in RON traffic for US is a drop in the bucket, you'll need much much bigger budget to test US RON effectively.

For your first mobile campaign I'd recommend a smaller geo, with a super hot offer that has a low CPA and easily converts. This will allow you to buy data quicker and cheaper.

Also, rather than testing 20 banners with slight variation in colors/wording, try to create truly different angles.

And finally -- stop worrying about "bot" traffic. It's a waste of energy. The problem is you -- your ads/lp/offer/setup, not the traffic.
