How I spy on Android mobile ads

Hey guys,

I'm really new here and starting my exploration in to mobile, I was looking around for a way to spy on mobile ads and in the past I signed up to WRW but it was expensive and I didn't know what i was looking at.

I ended up finding an app for PC called 'Andy the Android' which is an android emulator for PC. You download it in a virtualbox vm (It's around 500mb) then install the top 10 free games from the Google play store. Connect to your favourite VPN country, load a game and then the ads will just pop up. You can rip the creatives, landers, whatever its actually amazing.

It may have already been discussed here but if it hasn't..then here you go! http://www.andyroid.net/

Nice share mate!

I use bluestacks on OSX and that gets the job done too.

I find spying using a vpn to be useless because most advertisers (esp direct marketers ) have blocked out wifi and only run their ads on carrier traffic for obv reasons . My question is how to spy on carrier traffic?

3g modem + simcard but that will work only for your country , other way is to find IP's providers, advanced setup for system would be raspberry pi's on 3g connections running proxy server on themselves haha, but thats too overwhelming.

Maybe spoofing IP in some way

How do you get Andy to work?

I installed Andy and when I start the Andy Launcher... Nothing happens. Am I using it wrong?

You need to right click it in the taskbar and hit start Andy (or w/e it is).

I found an issue with one of the auto updates with the new version of Andy.

My work PC doesnt have a soundcard and Andy would constantly crash at bootup, apparently it NEEDS a soundcard to work so if you are having problems, maybe start there

Just tried this but got one major problem: Even though my pc is connected to another country via vpn "Andy" seems to ignore it. If I open the play store the top apps are all the same, including some that a clearly german.
