PPV USAGlasses Follow Along

Hi to all.

Introduction
1. i started working on affiliate marketing, inspired by an ex-colleague on the 20th of Sep.
2. Attended a course by a famous guru costing 4200 +++ which I am not sure if it was one of the most stupid thing I have done in my life reading through this forum.
3. My stats till today... spend 4200+++ course. Spent USD 1800 on advertisement but only got back USD 500. As I typed I think another 300 will be transferred into 50onred again..... (I personally feel very guilty for losing money rather than spending more money to buy toys for my kids)
4. I am hoping if by sharing the campaigns I am launching, I can get some clues what I have done wrongly. Can I ask for help here? Thanks.

Hey Ray!

Sorry to hear about your previous bad experience.

My first recommendations is you make sure you have understood the fundamentals of affiliate marketing before you go spending money.

Why did you pick the GlassesUSA campaign? What does the offer page look like? Are you using a landing page? The more information you share, the more we can help!

Hi Mr Green - Thanks for your reply. My motivation today is to earn back the money I spent to the singapore guru course to reduce the guilt I spent. I can carry on blabbering and blabbering but its the future that matter and I have told myself to concentrate and do my best. Its make or break now ......

I picked the GlassesUSA campaign as it was recommeded by the AM in W4. This was advised in the course.
I have snaped shot the landing page which actually looks the same as glassesusa.com.

I do not do landing page as a very successful friend who is earning around 30k a month doing PPV told me "do not waste time on landing pages. How can you design a better landing page than the advertiser".
I am willing to share everything. I have also included what are the keywords I am bidding on and the stats below:-
Attachment 4852

My thinking is: "I am losing money and bleeding everyday = no profit, who else can be worst state than me". So if there is something more needed information, pls pls let me know. I will provide so that I can get more tips to be successful.

Sorry that I am very "thick skinned" but if I do not try to even ask for help... I think I will never learn from the best. So pardon me for being thick skinned to ask for help.

Sweet jesus that's one of the worst pieces of marketing advice I've ever heard.

The entire point of landing pages is that we more often than not can sell the product, offer or service to our audience better than the advertiser alone.

Anyway, the GlassesUSA offer is no doubt PPS right? I.e. it converts when users make some sort of purchase?

Direct linking to this kind of offer won't work well unless the users have high purchasing intent. And on PPV your looking at some of the lowest intent traffic you can ever find on the internet.

TL;DR: I wouldn't run this on PPV without a lander (and probably not on PPV in general).

As Green said you should step back and focus on some AM fundamentals first. What traffic source do I want to work with? What offers are suitable for this source? Etc.

hey raylim,
Firstly, don't refer to the singpore guy as a "guru". I know who you are talking about and his advice is probably pushing you in the wrong direction. Secondly, the other 30k guy that doesn't use landing pages, I would bet a fair amount he is full of crap.

I have tested GlassesUSA on PPV in the past and it wasn't very good. It had some real ups and downs but for the most part it was negative, especially direct linking. I have done better with it from 3rd tier PPC.

So if I were you, I would look for other offers. For PPV, some diet offers did ok, like Garcinia and some of the travel stuff, eg: booking.com. You will find it cheaper to test lower payout offers as well, so you won't be looking at a 0 all the time in your stats.

Hi iAmAttila , sorry I cannot answer your question directly. I am not sure if I can sued for mentioning names. As such, I need to exercise with caution to avoid defaming people.
I just want to try to understand affiliate marketing and the method taught to me to keep testing until finding a campaign just seems to not work. I posted here to see what I can do on my campaigns.

People seem to be attracted to my post because of my initial history.

BTW, I see alot of interesting post you made on your blog, can you impart some of your methods to me, pls

Raylim,
i would consider Advertise.com probably the closest to PPC. But they still have lots of PPV type traffic and other garbage traffic. 7search is another 3rd tier source that is easy to use, but hard to scale.

I wouldn't recommend testing glassesUSA, but only because i have run some traffic to it and it just doesn't really do much for me. If you think you can make it work, or have some good angles, then sure, give it a go.

Yes, W4 is a very good network. Peerfly is a good network too, they always have very good support. But with their offers, many seem to be brokered, so you might want to check around for payouts etc.

Hi Raylim,

My AM will send me a list of top performing ppv campaign every week. Inside the list, they will have the traffic source stated, and other details as well such as conversion rate, epc etc. You choose the one that is performing well in 50onred.

You can start from the list, and choose an offer, analyze the visitors using similarweb to understand the traffic source or if you got the money spy other people lander using boxofads and amend to suit your own. I'm no expert in ppv , but this is normally what I do and it really helps in reducing the losses during the initial stages. But from what I observed, ppv lander normally very simple, fast loading, with countdown timer, same theme as final lander and some with sounds as well. Glassesusa landing page not really ppv type in my opinion, and they have their internal team in PPC too.

Good Luck.

Thanks

Hi, fellow Sinkie

Not intended to rub salt in your wound, but did it ever occur to you that his millions are probably not made from AM, but from his unsuspecting students? He used humans' base emotions: fear of losing out, greed and laziness to earn his worth. That is his main source of income. Not AM. And certainly not glassesUSA, which is pay per sale and is terribly hard to run. Instead, focus on easier stuff like email/zip submits.

At least you made the right choice in joining STM like all of us newbies

Stop the campaigns, erase the bad memories, and start reading up on all the newbie friendly guides in STM, they're seriously worth more than the monthly subscription we're paying for. Good luck, we're going to need a hell lot of it. And hard work.
