Hi All,
What is the difference between Decisive and Media Buying for Mobile? I hear this media buying now all the time but confused about the difference, what options are there when running a campaign to get traffic to the offer?
Thank you!
Cheers,
Leon
Media buying generally means flat rate buys from sites i.e. direct deals, or buying of desktop display traffic e.g. SiteScout, Bonadza, etc.
Let's be fair: we all do media buying on virtually every traffic source. It's a general term.
But again, if people talk about media buying this is generally in the context of flat rate buys (e.g. $250 for a month of 100% of the impressions for X placement on Y site).
Thank you Zeno! I keep on hearing for beginners its not recommended to go into Media buying since it is very expensive and you can burn cash very fast, do you agree with that?
So from my understanding we have got two categories, media buying and a general traffic source where we pay per 1000 impressions for example, is that right? What would recommend for a newbie to start with?
Thank you!
Leon
It depends on what kind of media buying you do, but in general, yes, yes it is an easy way to burn money quickly.
To start, go with self-serve platforms where you pay per impression with no contracts, where you can turn things on/off at any time and have fine control over targeting.
