Hi, I wanted to register an account at Zeropark, but they require some EU VAT ID to register the account. Unfortunately I dont have such an ID. I did some research and it seems like I have to register a business in my homecountry to get that. I am from germany btw.
Can you recommend to do that for a newbie? Seems like I have to pay taxes first and get them back by the end of the year. Should I stay away from trafficsources like this, since I am a beginner and dont make any money with AM yet?
I am just asking, because I saw the same at exoclick and am curious if I need this for many trafficsources. I had only some experience with decisive yet.
Yes you need to set up a business and request your EU VAT unless you don't live or don;t have your business in Europe
Just register a 'Gewerbe' and you're good to go. You get a tax id & a VAT ID. Dealing with inside EU companies you'll be facing the 'reverse charge' system. Get in touch with an accountant, I'm from Germany too and trust me, you don't want to fuck around when it comes to taxes here, even less talking about VAT
Where are you tax resident?
I am still registred in Germany. WIll go back for christmas and try to apply for a "Gewerbe" like fjk87 said.
Or is there a better option?
I have the same problem, but I live in Bulgaria, East Europe. What can I do to fix that? Please, guys, advise me!
Anyone have any tips ? Someother networks are doing that for me too and I am not even in my home country (canada) nor living in Europe. Usually like facebook they let me go and not ask but sometimes I am forced to put a VAT now. Is it simple for a company from anywhere to register for it? I dont understand why non european individuals/companies have to do this ...
I went to the cityadministration ( dont know how to call it in english, but its the embassy where you register business and stuff). Just had to give them some Info about what I am doing, my passport and paid like 20€. It was all done on the same day, but you just have to send some documents to the finance authority so you can get your VAT ID. Dont know exactly what to do there, since my tax accountant did the paperwork.
Pretty sure you can do it even if you are not in the country, if you write someone u trust a certificate of authority. Just google a bit, there should be definitely some ways.
Its really not that hard as u think and there is no way to get around it.
WIsh it was that simple for every country. VAT is a pain in the ass and it has kept me from trying the traffic sources and offers I really wanted.
@bgtrix: Since you are in Europe, you probably need to start a company of some kind. Be careful though, this might mean you 'll have more obligations as well.
VAT registration is optional in the UK for business with less than a certain amount of turnover (£67,000). Not having a VAT number shouldn't stop you applying.
