Using Leadpages.net for your landing page? (6)

Using Leadpages.net for your landing page?

So I'm gonna go out there and say it: "I suck at design"

I was playing around with leadpages for my optin forms, and those forms are making me a good amount of conversions. Then I wondered what it would take to convert a leadpages.net as a CPA landing page.

The templates are fairly sexy and seem very web 3.0. It shouldn't be difficult to modify the color palette on a leadpages page to mimic the destination offer.

And yet I see a lot of guides / posts here of the more successful affiliates using their own homegrown landing pages hosted on their own CDNs.

Is there a reason why? Or is it more that leadpages.net is just so new that using them for a simple click-through landing page hasn't been widely adopted? As in, this is a major first-mover advantage for me?

It mostly has to do with speed and control. For most beginners, however, I think it is not a bad place to start and test out and learn.

I use unbounce because I am in the same boat, and leadpages can be real fking clunky.

Most successful affiliates host their own landers, because the load time is faster and it improves conversions, esp on mobile where load time is kiiiiing.

Having said that I have seen unbounce out perform a self hosted lander, that was a lot quicker, by a significant margin. I still don't know why.

You're not geting a first mover advantage, lead pages has been around for a while now, but why not try. I think it is a good start for someone, as you get more resources you can move away from it.

These services are worth a lot more if you can export the landing page code to then leverage your own infrastructure.

Well, we can always just save stuff in a browser right...

Leadpages uses their own css. Will take a bit of work, but you're right. It's not exactly impossible to rip. Merely inconvenient.
