obvious answer is yes but i have no idea how those people are doing it, or whether the only high duration ads on factory are being ran internally.
i have tried everything - skyscraper, footer, NTV and never got anything to back out for longer than a few days. the amount of click fraud after 2-3 days is unreal. have tried niche categories and every major country. nothing works like the other sources. also there's no frequency capping or CPM bidding option so you're stuck with paying ridiculous click prices for bot clicks.
just wanted to vent late night about one of the shittiest platforms out there with a ton of volume.
is there anything i'm doing wrong?
I am kind of in the same boat but I don't think they have bot traffic. The issue is that the CTR drops extremely fast(er!) than on other traffic sources.
When your rank is very high then your ads get displayed after the visitor has seen 10 ads already. The main issue is that their CPC algorithm sucks. Actually CPC generally =)
Its one of the most complicated sources for me too, I never run there for a long time as well, campaigns always tank very fast. Hard to say whether they have more bot traffic than the other networks, but their algo certainly totally sucks for the advertisers
Trafficfactory is my favorite and main source. I tried exoclick many times, never really worked for me
I think you only pay for the first click on your ad. So if a user sees your ad 10 times and clicks 10 times, you will only be charged for one click.
I must say I too am on the same boat with TrafficFactory. Was doing great for a while but now the CTR's are just being silly. Even if I test the same banner twice the CTR's are so different and CPC becomes much more expensive. Sometimes a bit hard to tell which banner is good.
Ever since their algorithm change, it's been going down, CTRs are lower, banner bans are at an all time high, very hard to get anything by their nasty approval guys, prices skyrocketed... not the same as it once was, it used to be my main source but like they say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" but they just couldn't live without screwing up what was perfect so.... yeah it's a shit source nowadays, very hard to make work.
It was def easier a few years ago to bank there but even today if you put some effort you can make some nice profit.
I've had mixed results with it. It does tend to tank camps after awhile and then gets paused and dissed unlike my bread and butter traffic sources which I run daily
My strategy with Traffic Factory is basically brute forcing my way to the top placements with multiple variations of different banners. Bid high during their casting process (and take the loss), then adjust the bid to your needs. Rotate banners often, keep things fresh.
I've burnt several thousands trying to figure it out after they changed their algo. It's a powerful source of traffic.
