Hi man,

I have been in this forum for more than a month. just wandering arround here and there.

I just made a decison to make this follow up.

My goal:500 dollars per day;

Traffic Source:Mediabuys from a canadian company(sorry I don't know if they want to be published here or not,so I don't say it now);all USA mobile adult traffic;
I have signed the contract with the traffic source,it's nearly 10,000 dollars .

Tracker:Voluum(prepare to pay ,but still free now);

landingpage server-----------dedicated server with 8 CPUS,16G RAM;

Affiliate Network----------smashrevenue.com;

offers--------------Milfoholic(mobile);

Day1-day15:
In fact,This Campaign has started half a month.Just routines,prepare the server,be familiar with Voluum,looking for the scripts etc;
I will try to write the followup every day from now on.
Here are the former data;
impressions:5,700,000;
unique visitors:4,000,000;
clicks:28584;
conversions:223;
CTR:0.5%;
CR:0.78%

Problem:
The ROI is -50% I have spent 800 dollars,but the profit is only 400 dollars;
Actions taken:
1. use landers ;(the result is not good,compared with direct link,so I changed back to DL);(I spied the landders and banners ,maybe it is the reason?)
Action to take:
Should I use the popunders?

Oh my god man, you got some balls, or is it risk ignorance? Doing a fixed buy for $10k without having anything tested in your hands, with 1 offer and no backup plan ... this really wasnt smart.

1. always run dating with a LP, I have never seen a dating campaign work better without a landing page. I have seen offers that actually looked as a LP, but even in those cases I did better with my LPs.
2. never ever do a fixed deal if you do not have either a working funnel or at least past data that will make the optimization easier.

But since you already did no.2, lets try to save some cash You will loose on this campaign most likely, but lets try to minimize the losses.

1st of all, find one or two other offers in the same GEO and split test them with milfaholic. They will most likely kick you from the offer pretty soon anyways. You will need something else to promote when that happens. Signup for some other aff network too and split test.
2nd make better LPs, split test them, and keep the best or 2 best ones - try to optimize them further. Work on your banners too, try different angles, improve ripped banners...
3rd you mentioned the popunders, check with your traffic network whether they allow pops on the LP, if they do, use them to save some more cash.
4th with that volume of traffic you booked, you should be able to send a decent amount of leads if you optimize the funnel a bit, ask for a pay bump, smashrevenue certainly has margins high enough to bump you by 20% at least, since you are getting the street payout now.
5th pray for the best and dont repeat this mistake again. Gain experience first, then do larger buys like this.

How much other traffic are you running elsewhere?

Dropping 10k on something + having a reasonable dedicated server suggests you've got plenty of experience under your belt (most wouldn't drop 10k without first making at least that in the same vertical, with proven offers/funnels).

1.I have been doing the research work in the adult mobile field for a month,use WRW,find out many many landing page servers(you all know what that means).
I find out everyone is using the LPS ,no one use DL;To tell the truth,the landing pages are all nearly the same.
Since no one use DL,I will just use it,maybe it will work .I will accept your advice and design my own lps and try it again;
2.I have paid exoclick,trafficjunky,juicyads some hundred dollars each for split test,the result is really bad and waste time.I will keep on flat rate buys or big budget media buys .
3.I noticed there are other 3 Milfaholic offers besides mobile Milfaholic SOI and I have applied and gotten approved .
I will insist on doing things in a simple way. just dig this Malfaholic offer deeply.
3.I will negotiate with Mr.tuan for a pay bump.(I guess he will agree with it).

I have been the webmaster for some sites for quite a long time and earn a rich money (google adsense);
Some of my friends are earning 2000-5000 dollars a day in pin submitting,app and adult datings;
I listened to my friend's advice and just dived into it.
It seems that there is no easy money to earn.

This is all fine, big budget media buys and fixed deals are very often way better than self serve platforms, but before a bigger buy like the one you did here, you should test it through self serve networks and establish a decent funnel.

See how you said NEARLY? Thats exactly the point, I have seen an LP getting from loosing money to producing nice ROI by simply replacing the chick on it. Sometimes you dont really need to change all that much.

The other ones should be web SOI and DOI version, plus one more mobile DOI. You shouldnt use the web version for mobile tho, it will convert and the payout is higher but the advertiser will not accept that traffic for long, check with Tuan to make sure tho. Make sure to test the various urls provided for the offer, some will convert much better.

Just back from the Appflood Meetup.
The traffic source was suddenly turned down and just reopened.(The Manager told me it was because someone was doing something bad against the rules);
The ROI is still negative.

DAY 17(1st ,December)-----------DAY24(8th,Decmber)
Here is the statistics I made;


Just learned how to optimize your campaign from the Appflood Meetup,and use it here;

1.use 5 banners to test CTR;
keep the banners running for nearly 2 days ;
I just set up 5 different campaigns in Voluum ,and count the clicks directly;
find out 3 banners with the more clicks and conversions and cut off the rest;
2.add the landing pages;
I have 300*250,300*100 two types of banners from the network;
I set up one lander for 300250 and one for 300*100;
Questions:
1.it seems like the DL is better than LP as before,don't know the reason;
2.more and more campaigns are added in Voluum, Is there anyway to make this simple? I noticed there were custom variables,who knows how to set them.

ps.
I am loosing patience with this campaign,I have started a new one with traffic junky ,and it seems everything is going well.ROI is only a little bit negative;

Use custom variables to pass information like creative name, banner size, and any tokens provided by the traffic source.

You should make new campaigns in Voluum when you want to specifically separate them i.e. look at their data separately, control the paths separately, etc.

For your traffic source in Voluum you can add custom variables there, then this will change the campaign URL generated. No one can tell you specifically how to do this for an unknown traffic source.

That's the problem.I don't have any token from the traffic source.
Anyway,I have set up new campain in trafficjunky.I will run campaigns with these two sources.
Compared with trafficjunky.the mediabuy package is more flexible;you can change banners at any time you want and also the animated one is allowed there.
I always need to wait for so long a time to get approved in trafficjunky.
It's nearly positive,I still have many things need to optimized.
I will try my best to finish this.

When a traffic source doesnt provide the tokens, you need to make your custom ones, like zeno already suggested. You just need to configure them in your tracking and that way you can track banners, placements, sitenames etc, you just need to modify them on your own when setting up a campaign.

So in Voluum go to traffic sources setup, hit the advanced options and fill the 3 columns like this :

parameter..........placeholder..........name
AD.......................1........................ ....AD

dont forget to check the box next to it so it actually tracks the info

this one parameter alone is basically all you need, now the tracking link will contain this : "&AD=1", when uploading a banner, change the "1" for something that will tell you where the click came from. Lets say you are using banner number 1, on pornhub, ntva, desktop traffic. So instead of "1" put this there : "&AD=PH-NTVA-DSKTP-BAN1". You can also configure more tokens like this, no need to put everything into the AD variable.

Its a bit more complicated to do it like this and I always like when the network provides their own tokens, but sometimes its simply isnt the case so you need to help yourself like this.

adopt zeno's advice from appflood meetup,use ytz.com to optimize;
it seems like YTZ is useful for the traffic from different countries.as my traffic is all from US,YTZ is not suitable.

Think simply,act simply!
I have been rethinking the things I have done since this campaign set up;
I pay too much attention to the technical terms;I pay little attention to the content;
I will make things as simple as it can be;
Actions :
1.stop Voluum;use the ad network statistics directly;
2.pay more attention to the bannerdesigning and lander copy writting(escpecially the internal connections between the banners and landers);

try a little bit more,the ROI will be green!

One thing I noticed about your screenshots and I'm not sure if anybody else picked up on it, was that fridays seem to be your best days.
Which *could* indicate that doing more specific time targetting of your campaign can work in your favor.
For example in your first screenshot: 12/5/2014, Friday you had a ROI of -5.96%
And in the second screenshot: 12/12/2014, you had an ROI of 13.18%.
If you use TJ, they have time targetting, use this along with frequency capping.

Hi guys,
I have been very busy for these days.
This campaign has turned to be green for a week !
1.changed to beyondhosting dedicated server with litespeed web server(12G)(with geolite2 installed,I guess this is very helpful for the landingpages);
2.finished optimizing and just select the best one and keep on running;
3.I guess it will be very difficult to reach 500 dollars per day;

You stated these are media buys so can i assume your running no frequency cap? whats your system your running to optimize/change banners ? once it gets below a certain ctr you switch it out or just on if its green for the day ?
