I would have seen this post eventually since I'm on Dr. Ngo's list, but thanks for sharing this @practicemakesperfect. I agree, one of the most awesome posts on how to make it big as an affiliate marketer I've ever read.

I wouldn't be on STM without Attila! Great guy.
PS: That article is gold. It was printed off and added to my Mobile library as soon as I read it this morning.

Agreed!
I like the down to earth advice from IAmAttila. Also his detailed follow-alongs on his blog. Makes it seem so doable when he breaks it down. What a champ!
Just out of curiosity, what is on everyone's daily reading list? I like to read first thing in the morning, last thing at night, and STM in my breaks in between.
Currently my daily reading list is:
CharlesNgo.com
BenjaminYong.com
IAmAttila.com
AsianEfficiency.com
TED blog (blog.ted.com) when I don't feel like watching the videos
Anything related to natural health
Anything else to throw into the mix?

Great list man!
Ben Yong and Charles Ngo are the best. Have you seen Finch's blog?

I also recommend following Justin Brooke on facebook or his company blog:

Ah well... don't hold on to past regrets man! My philosophy is "live in the now cos you can't change anything else".
By the way, as a newbie, I've found reading helps me to take my mind off the campaigns that I have running in the background. I'm always tempted to check on my stats every half an hour... and reading really helps me to not do that. How long have you been in AM for? Did you find it was like this when you started out too?

great article! and sounds like you've got some seriously decent budget in the first place to begin with? When starting out, how much money were you willing to lose before you call it quit? 50k? 100k? or even a bigger number?
for those who can't afford 2 inhouse employees when starting out, do you have any suggestions? thanks!

I will release a write up on systems and how to design them to work for you in the near future.
Only a select few see all. The rest see what they must see only. Hope that makes sense.

I had 4000/month budget for testing i could afford to lose.
Golden Rule: Only lose what you can afford.

A lot of people struggle to make the transition from SEO to paid marketing ... what were some of the most challenging obstacles you faced, and what are the biggest mistakes you see ex-SEOs making as they try make the same transition that you successfully made?

Respect. Not many people achieve success by starting as the company with systems, usually it's the lone wolf approach until he can systematically diagram and optimize his processes to be able to be outsourced.
