stackers,
I have a big question about trackers, as a new affiliate such as myself with a limited budget a month, i dont wanna spend all my budget in tools (i understand tools are important of course) but i need to have money left to test campaigns, that being said here is the dilema i am in at the moment.
prosper 202 - stm tracker - free but too old and limited
thrive - 100 a month a license, and if i wanna have it in various places to reduce latency then have to pay more per extra license
cpvlabs - here is where i need your help as is the only one i havent tried <---- this one seems affordable, i know that its probably not as good as thrive and
Any other advice is highly appreciated. Oh and i am running ONLY mobile traffic so keep this in mind
Thanks
Moved to Tracking Campaigns subforum (come now, the obvious place for it right...)
What's wrong with using
@zeno apologies about the placement, the problem with the free version is the tracking url that everyone and their mother is using, and (they say) some networks have it blacklisted and can lead to click loss.
Some networks might blacklist it but you'd definitely know about this when your campaigns were disapproved or no clicks came through.
If in doubt just talk to the traffic source directly.
If specific pubs were blocking it somehow that would be more annoying, but I don't see this being the case when the network's link will always come before anything of yours.
I don't think it's a big problem.
i have been using
Well, the differences will only be the detection databases used really - since mobile and desktop traffic is all the same to a tracking system.
Thrive is newer and I would bet on that, but if you want to avoid paying monthly fees for it... well, I would stick to
In terms of differences between Thrive and CPVLabs, there are huge ones. It would simply take too long to write out all the details, but some of the major differences:
1) Scale. When you reach scale, you'll notice that CPVLab will slow down more and more and you need to purge your data. This is a common complaint that happens all the time with CPVLab. Thrive can handle millions of clicks/day given the right server setup.
2) Similarly, when your software starts slowing down, your redirects start slowing. Thrive has the ability to process clicks AFTER the visitor has already been sent to his destination. That's why Thrive requires a cron job. CPVLab must process all the click information (geo, device, metrics, etc.) before the visitor even gets sent to the landing page, which slows down the redirect speeds.
3) CPVLab can't track offers and landing pages across the portfolio. You must enter each landing page and offer individually in every single campaign, and they can't be tracked collectively. Thrive has a drill down report capability that lets you drill down to 3 levels of variables across campaigns to see exactly which combination yields the best results.
4) Automation. Thrive is built with automation in mind. For example, if an offer goes down, Thrive has an offer swap function that allows you to instantly swap that offer from all of your campaigns for a different offer. In CPVLab, you need to open each campaign and edit them individually. When the time comes, you'll thank Thrive for having these capabilities.
These are just a few top of my head. Thrive's infrastructure is seriously a generation ahead of CPVLab, and I would listen to @zeno's advice to stay away from CPVLab simply because it's becoming obsolete in the modern age.
We've got a 30 day free trial, so I hope you give it a shot!
