Content Delivery Network? How does it works?

I'm struggling to understand how Voluum + CDN works.

What I know so far is that you use CDN to host your landing pages, right? And then you just have to tie your landing pages to Voluum?

Basically CDN will replace my hosting (at this time is BeyondHosting, where I pay $50/month)? I'll put the DNS from my domains in the CDN, upload files via FTP, etc on the CDN?

Also... the $20/month CDN plan from Cloudflare is enough to do the Mobile Cookbook? (you can their plans here: https://www.cloudflare.com/plans )

Am I missing anything here?

Note: I have purchased the $100/month Voluum plan.

Hey Rafa--

I actually just the other night asked some pretty similar questions and got a great answer from Zeno. Check it out here http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...Do-I-need-both

"How CDNs work" is more a question for Google, but how to use them with your campaigns is pretty easy.

You just upload content to them as you would a normal server and get corresponding URLs for that content. If it's an html page then you just get the URL for that page.

The URLs will be hxxp://mycdncontainerurl.com/folder/structure/file.extension

You can't really throw away servers and just use CDNs... each has their role to play You could stop using VPS hosting and put all pages on a CDN but there are several limitations to this as I detailed in the post spaceinvaders linked.

Thank you Zeno. I asked the CDN they didn't answered yet.

At Beyond they told me this $50/month package can handle 40k visits/day. However I don't think is a big number to mobile.

Is that enough at least to follow the Main Course (Cookbook)?

40k a day is plenty. The $50/month VPS from BeyondHosting can surely do a lot more than that.

Worry about handling volume later though... there's plenty of time, money and experience that lies between you and 40,000 clicks per day.
