how many different offers & verticals to start testing?

Hi Guys,

I have 2 questions in relation to the amount of different offers and verticals to go with when starting out.

Questions 1: I'm just in the process of asking my AMs for top offers in in a specific vertical. How many offers would you say is it good to start with? I was thinking of going with 6 different offers in that same vertical.

Question 2: What about different verticals, should I stick to one single vertical and test different offers in that vertical or is it better to go with different verticals. I remember reading in one of tutorial guides that it was recommended to stick to a single vertical to learn as much about how it works. But, i'm unsure.

Thank you! Btw, the tutorial guides and support on this forum has been really amazing, just wanted to let you know.

It somewhat depends on the campaign.

For a broad dating campaign you could potentially rotate 6 different offers on the back end.

For a sweepstakes campaign you may be able to do the same.

For gaming you are usually restricted to one.

But, do you mean 6 different offers to create individual campaigns for? if that's the case, the only real limit is your time and testing budget. I would however suggest only focusing on 2-3 at a time so that you can commit more spend/time to those campaigns.

Sticking to a single vertical is wise but you'll need to take into account how your traffic source fits in. Choosing a vertical and a poor traffic source for that vertical can lead to you chipping away at an obstacle that simply isn't going to move. For example, trying to master auto insurance on adult traffic might be a big waste of time (disclaimer: never tried it).

Hey certainchance, here's something i like to do when I start out on a brand new traffic source.

1. Ask the AM for 5 hot offers and verticals for the type of traffic
2. Load up all 5 offers as separate campaigns on the traffic source
3. Run a small test to each offer
4. See which OFFER TYPE does best on the traffic source, pause the others
5. THEN start working on the best offer on that source.

It adds a little more setup time but has worked for me 100 times.

Good luck,
Malan
